The Royal Seal Of Approval

This had me smiling. Just another reason I like the monarchy.
EDIT: I wish I'd read all the replies. I saw the perfect title for this topic: 'Wii are amused.' ^_^
EDIT AGAIN: Just thought I'd mention, whilst on the topic of the Royals, that Prince Edward is going to officially open my school. They moved to a new building in the summer, and now they're going to make it official. They're closing it for the visit though, so we won't meet him. (Actually I misread the letter. Turns out we will)

I still don't have a Wii, but if it becomes royal decree I might just have to get one.

I'm fairly sure Nintendo wouldn't give a damn about the Royal Family when they're main targets are America and Japan.
It would also be unlikely that an institution like the Royal Family which has been around for centuries and once ruled roughly 1/4 of the globe is going to be part of an advertisement for a games console.

Would be weird if on MarioKart Wii there was a player called ' the queen'

I lol'd so hard at each one.
But as Me111 pointed out, the Queen is actually exactly in the right non-gaming demographic that Nintendo is reaching out to with Wii. So in that sense, it's not too surprising.

I guess it's just tradition and fun.

Hahah, imagine the queen on the streets in a box.
And now the Royalty dont really do much apart from occasionally make the headlines when somebody gets drunk/ stoned or somebody dies. I guess they kinda are pointless, but who cares? They've been there long enough, why kick them now?

Wait, now that I think of it, if Peach is the princess, who is the Queen?

Peach's mother, duh....
I'm not a fan of the royalty idea, but I wouldn't want it to go either. Queen's day over here is made out of pure win.
