Okay, so in America only FF 4, 5, and 6 were released, as 1, 2, and 3. But then when the PS1 came out, FF7 was released, AS FF7, in America and Japan, so weren't the Americans confused that it went from 3, to 7. Now my therory/history of how things happened might be wrong, but if it's not, then why would they go from 3 to 7?

I don't think it realy matters, because 1-6 have been rereleased in their proper numbered order.

Ya but when it first came out people must have been like "wtf".
I'm jsut wondering why they didn't release the originals in the first place in America.

They just decided not to release some of them overhere. Back then no one used the internet so they wouldn't know about all the other final fantasies in Japan. They probably didn't release the originals over here as they didn't believe they'd sell well. FF's popularity began at the VI/VII time.
