    you may have noticed teh large amount of references to various mythologies in the golden sun games, seeing as i'm incredibly bored, i will be listing and explaining all of thse explanations a san ongoing project

    i did summons in another thread so i'll just copy pasta that, then the fun begins

    Summons

    -Venus: Goddess of Love (Roman)
    -Ramses: Legendary Pharaoh (Egyptian)
    -Cybele: Goddess of Fertile Earth (Phrygian)
    -Judgement: likely a reference to the judgement of the dead found in much mythology
    -Mars: God of War (Roman)
    -Kirin: Mythical Chimerical Creature (Japanese)
    -Tiamat Goddess of Chaos (Babylonian)
    -Meteor: No reference to myth, although the sight of one was considered an omen in much of mythology
    -Jupiter: Chief of the Gods (Roman)
    -Atalanta: Legendary Huntress (Greek)
    -Procne: sister to Philomela, wife of Tereus, and mother of Itys (Greek)
    -Thor: God of Thunder (Norse)
    -Mercury: Messenger of the Gods (Roman)
    -Nereid: Sea Nymphs (Greek)
    -Neptune: God of the Sea (Roman)
    -Boreas: God of the North Wind, Chief of the four wind gods (Greek)

      Damn, I would've been bored of researching after the summons. Props for collecting everything. I never knew that there would be this many references.

        I don't think I've ever encountered some of those items.
        where do you find some of them, them blacksmith?

            I love mythology and I think that's the reason I was drawn so much into golden sun. Also, there is the Hermes water, in which Hermes was a messenger from the gods to humans (Olympian) and the Roman equivalent was Mercury.

              He wasn't just a messenger, he was a god of traders, thieves and some obscure branch of healing. His rod is pretty famous, can't remember the name but it's used on British ambulances.

                The staff and serpent symbol used by medical institutions is called a caduceus, and is indeed modeled after the staff of Hermes.

                    ALOT of games have mythology references. Especially the Hercules games. :P

                      Except that toasters didn't exist back then. The closest would be the sun god of your chosen pantheon.
