What is everybodies thoughts here on gangs. Ya I know most peopel think they are bad for our society, and that all they do is kill and do drugs, but I mean, some people have nothing else. Just because of the street they grew up on, makes them liable to get killed, so they have to join a gang for protection.

The main gangs in North America are the Bloods, the Crips, the Triads, and the Hells Angels.

So what are your thoughts on gangs.

That still glorifies violence, which is basically what they are trying to get rid of with gangs.

What are you trying to get to?

Well in the city I'm going to college in... There's "Gang initiation week." Sometimes the "test" that is part of the initiation is to kill a student from this college. There's also many rape cases. Soo...Yeah. I'm not thrilled about gangs.

There is a documentary made by an ex-Blood member, and he explains that, to get into the Bloods, he had to walk around, and kill the first person wearing ANYTHING blue, gang-member or not.

I am not, but I can see why some people would join gangs, for protection. Say some guy grew up on Ceder Block in Compton, and a Crip had beef with one of his friends, and was going to kill said guy, said guy would want protection. The Bloods own Ceder Block, so therefore he would join the Ceder Block Bloods.

What if hsi friend doesn't belong to a gang, what if his friend jsut had beef with the Crip because, idk, he hooked up with the Crips ex-gf. **** liek that starts beef.

hmm, it gets a bit complicated then I guess. Most people don't get involved in gang for said reasons though. I think it's the environment which cause people to turn to gangs (lack of employment, education, lazyness, (gangsta rap), etc.)

True, alot of people join gangs becasue of the enviroment, but not all. But, really, the government should do somethnig about the bad neighbourdhoods. Clean them up, make better houses, and not put gun & liqour stores on every corner.

No, but I do know a few Bloods and Crips, and I do alot of things that some people call "gang-like", but eff them.

I don't nessecarily condone what they do, but I can see why it might happen.

Honestly, it has come up, but everytiem I say, why the hassle. Killing somebdoy over the colour they were, when personally, I have no beef with the guy, like, **** that. I do own knives, and a gun, and I have stabbed a few people, but that was personal beef, and I man real personal. I wouldn't kill somebdoy because they wear a blue bandana, which is why I would never join a gang. I know 2 Centenial 151 Bloods, and a Bayswater Crip, and I chill with both, and I have seen alot of ****ed up stuff, and it jsut doesn't seem like something I would want to do.

1 of them was a guy who treid to rape my girlfriend. Another was a guy who shot my bestfriend. The last guy was somebody who had stollen 500 E's off me.

The guy who's friend had beef with a crip, and he might kill the "guy" to get at the "friend". So the "guy" might join the Bloods. I DON'T have somebdoy that want's to kill me, that I know of.

I don't get the point of them. As long as there are still gangs out there, there will be a lot more violence. Gangs promote violence. Their fuel is hatred and vengeance, why should they be allowed to roam the streets, killing people because of past feuds and other stuff?
