Alright, I just skimmed through the Wikis ^^. GL, since I assume you are supporting the Giants, how does it feel being in Patriots territory lol? After all it seems the patriots appears to be based in Boston...

lol, you got the situation I'm in perfectly Eugine. It's only around this time that I actually start paying attention because it's the "big game", but I never realized just how intense people get about it. I've seen people start arguments and fights over this. Being a New Yorker going to college in Boston is hell, quite scary, when riding the subways... I always feel as though I'll be "discovered", heh.

Still, it should be a good game, and of course I'll lean towards the Giants (NY) winning. But at the same time, the Patriots are about to complete a perfect season of 19-0 if they win, something that's never been done before, and I would feel a bit bad if they couldn't get their record.

But hey, put it this way - either way, I can't lose. :D

EDIT: NFL is just the "National Football League", or the official governing body of the sport in the United States, kind of like how FIFA is for international football. The "Super Bowl" is just the annual premier game, the culmination of the end of the season, not unlike the FA Cup in England.

The Patriots have won 3 of the last 7 Superbowls, if I am correct. They are being called the team of the century alreayd, and we're only 8 years in. Though, I would have rather seen the Saints, or the Eagles get in, I will gladly cheer for the Patriots.

Atleast it wasn't the damn Colts again.

As for the Superbowl, it's not been touted much here. Even last year it got more than it has now. Then again, I guess the FA Cup final wouldn't be as popular in America.

I'm not being disrespectfull, but Soccer seems a little boring to me. Not that it isn't a good sport, or that it doesn't require talent, but sometimes, the riots in the crowds are more exciting then the game itself.

That tended to happen more during the 70s and 80s than it does now. You can still get in places like Italy though. I remember when a bottle was throwen at the goalkeeper.
Just out of interest, is the Superbowl early this year? It seems early, though I can't say I'm an expert.

omg! I don't like sports in general I must say football is great! It's the only sport I can watch for more than 5mins x3 (can't watch Cricket at all, and my friends continually tell me I'm not West Indian cuz I hate watching it x3)

I suck at football in any case, but playing it is really fun! Last year (the last time I played it) my friends told me I was improving x3.

"L" means 50. Putting the "X" before it means "10 less than" that, or 40. Add on the two "II" and we get 42nd.

And yes, Tom Brady is a very capable and strong quarterback, definitely one of the best in history. Mind you, I don't know much about American Football (as I said in the first post, not really into it myself), but I've been able to gather enough to say that he is an offensive force to be reckoned with.

I just prefer people from anywhere outside New York, I've been to America a few times (once to New York) and spoken to people online and in my experience people from New York are more impatient and impolite (in general).

Also I prefer Boston over New York in the way I prefer say London to Manchester.

But that's just my $0.02, not to offend anyone's feelings I've also spoken to a few really nice New Yorkers. :(

I don't think it was underthrown, but if Brady had waited another second and a half to throw it up, Moss would have had two steps on the coverage. He's lightning in the open field, but the Giants did a great job covering him all night.

For me, the play of the game was when Eli Manning was nearly run over and sacked, but kept on running for another few seconds before throwing an insane pass that was caught over 30+ yards. I forget who caught it, but it was in the final minutes of the game and was absolutely huge - it's being called one of the best plays of any Super Bowl ever.
