I had meant to post this sooner, only just now finally got the opportunity to. This is the first of what I hope will be a consistent series of updates to keep you all informed about the forum and the status of things.
Before I begin, I want to publicly state my appreciation for all the support I've gotten since I've become an administrator. Thank you again Max and Nick for for believing me ready for the job, and thank you all for giving me the encouragement to be an Admin.
With that said, a brief overview of the forum's status and what I want to update you all with:
- The forum layout has been streamlined, with the collapsing of the Entertainment category into a single forum (this occurred a while ago, but I wanted to make it official)
- Creation of an Anime & Manga sub-forum
- Each of up to 3 questions in polls now have 12 choices (up from 10)
- Miscellaneous other minor changes for general productivity on the forum
- the first official GSSF Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament is currently being planned! We are waiting for the game's release in PAL regions (Europe/Australia), which is likely to happen in the beginning of June. Look forward to that! (in the meanwhile, if you're already a Brawler, go here to find new challenges)
I am also happy to announce a promotion - I'd like to congratulate escout on becoming the new Role Playing Moderator - he has proven to be both fairly consistent and knowledgeable in the RP forum, and I trust that he will handle matters there well.
That's all for now. Feel free always to comment or ask questions, either here or directly via PM. In the meanwhile, I hope things are going well for everyone. Cheers GSSF!

I noticed the changing of the Entertainment forums, seems a bit odd to me that anime and manga gets special treatment. Why not TV & movies and Books sub forums?

escout: "Stop doing that, you are ruining the RP."
Random guy: "No"
escout: "Okay then."

I want to make it clear, first of all, that any and all changes to the forum structure always go through the entire staff before being implemented. This was no different - the decision to condense the Entertainment category into a single forum was something that all the admins and moderators agreed on.
That said, the actual reason for it was that the sub-forums were simply not active enough. That's something no one can deny, there just wasn't enough participation in them to warrant keeping them around. All it was doing was preventing the forum structure from being streamlined.
I do like the idea of having those sub-forums though, and ideally if this forum were huge with many, many more active members, they'd probably still be around.

And you somehow missed this?

It's just that now there's a FOURTH game too. And it'd be incredibly stupid of me to design it as a whole bunch of static HTML pages. If I'm going to do it, I need to basically create a template where all the information can be placed into when directed to do so. Kind of like the way the second version of GSS will work.
Learning the programming language(s) required to do that takes an attention span that I just don't have right now. :P

I have some awesome designs, but they're hard as hell to integrate.
