Well, they've got a good team doing the movie, so maybe it won't totally suck.
Still, I think BioShock's story worked best as a game. You just won't get the same immersion in a movie.

^ Haha. That's a really good question...
They'd have to change certain bits of the story to work as a movie. =/ Even if BioShock was linear, the story was posed so it seemed like the gamer really was making choices... something that everything in interactive media should do.

Bioshock was misslabeled. The only RPGing you got to do was saveor harvest the little sisters.
But yeah, the movie would be interesting to see.

It does have a couple of RPG elements; you can upgrade the stats of your weapons, swap and use plasmids, use tonics to gain abilities...more so than your average run-and-gun shooter.

The 'main' story of the game (from what i've heard) harvests the first little sister, and saves the rest.
