Now when this is supposed to happen, I do not know.
I'm not an omniscient fortune-teller here. >.<

Food prices are skyrocketing, wars are raging, the superpower is falling, personal liberties are eroding, and I can go on and on...
And as we get older we are burdened with more responsibilities... If you think your life is hard now, brace yourself for the future. It's getting worse...

We just have to band together in tight spots and move forward.

As long as the public doesn't go insane all at once and flood the streets will sorrow and blood, we'll be fine.

.... Yeah, I can't really think of anything else to say after that...
Let's see, in this topic we moved form a bad day to how the world is really in denial and is very problematic.
What would we move on to next?

Sometime during this generation (again), and I really wouldn't know where. I doubt if it'd be Russia or Africa.

But it's okay, cause I've actually been to the USA, and it's pretty cool, so I won't be starting any wars with you guys.

I think we can remove Australia and Antarctica from the picture.
The US in Iran would be the most provoking in the near future, but hell, when Israel clusterbombed Lebanon the Middle East, although hella ticked off, didn't break out their bombs.
China still has a bit of time to go. Japan doesn't have a standing army, North Korea is volatile but subdued for now.
Any World War now will be met with immense criticism, the world has become too small with the internet and political correctness: no more propaganda, no more speeches of patriotic fervor to get an entire nation against another.
I don't foresee a war in the near future. I foresee "conflicts" (such as what Vietnam technically was), but no wars. You can't fight a war over ideologies, anyway, and that's really all that's left.
Oh! I get it. OPEC vs. The Western World. Won't that be grand?
Sorry for hijacking this pity thread.

Centered on the Middle East. Used to include Venezuela, I think, before Hugo Chavez took over and went insane.

I agree, it is quite obvious. However, if you(and other people) keep having this the-world-is-doomed attitude the world will go down the crapper just that much quicker. I used to burden myself by thinking about what will become of our planet, but I've stopped. It's not that I don't care anymore, but I'm doing what I can: concentrating on my life and the lives of dear people around me, and I'm definitely happier and more relaxed than I used to be.

I actually only knew what OPEC did, not what it stood for. I could have sworn that the word "cartel" was somewhere in there.
