Catching up & feedback

It has been a bit of while since my last message, I wanted to just catch up with everyone. I know it's been a relatively slow time recently, so I thought now would be a good time to just get some thoughts from people and see how everyone is doing.
On another note, I apologize for the Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament being canceled. I acknowledge it was my error in judgment and hosting it, I made plenty of mistakes and I hope you can all forgive me.
At the very least, it is the first tournament we tried to host forum-wide and a learning experience. As such, I am open to any and all feedback regarding the tournament so we can make it a reality the next time it takes place (yes, I am already planning another one for you guys, see how much I care?)
*cue chorus of "aww"*
Hmm, well all right then. Any current thoughts, comments, opinions, ideas people would like to make now? I hope you've all been well, don't be afraid to drop me a line if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to chat sometime. Cheers!

The SSBB tourney didn't work, but I'm up for a new one (depending on the date I might not be able to participate due to promises to my parents) but yes I think it's worth a second shot.

I'd be willing to put the "Mod-Curse" to the test.

Back when Tobias and Nobody etc where around the Spam Forum was good fun, then it turned crap. The Common Room turned that around for awhile, but due to the lack of members it's just the Spam Forum re-badged.

EDIT: oh and it's really fricken annoying to read at least one person in every random topic being like "oh mai gawd we're becoming just like 4chan". The only way we're becoming 4chan is the fact that in every topic someone always b!tches about how the forum's dying. Stop being your own cancer.

I'll raise the mod position with the other staff. In the meanwhile, can I also request for people to stop acting like idiots? You know who you are, and you know what posts I'm referring to (that are purposely meant to distract the topic).

That's the main reason. And if an interesting one comes up it always results in a roundabout where the same things are repeated on and on. That and people just condemn something without giving a second thought.
Plus I think more then just the common room need a spring cleaning.

no really, that would actually be quite a good idea, aside from the fact the golden sun sections would stay at 1 or 2 posts forever.

But just because it's a mudpit doesn't mean it's okay to take a dump in it and leave it. It's not a freaking porta-poty.
The CR has seen worse days, and it's not really in horrible shape as it is, it just needs to go through the rinse cycle. And then get waxed and buffed.
And GSSF is not 4chan. We don't have people who sex up dogs.
....I hope.

What did I just say? We are not 4chan. I have two windows open right now, one gssf and one 4chan. O noes, how would I be able to tell which is which without the names on them!!! Seriously. Never would I come to gssf, look at the topics here and think "4chan". However when you say we're like 4chan, then we look like a bunch of idiot wannabes. If you want more people to join the site, and are worried they'll be scared off by our 4channess, then stop saying we're like 4chan! WE ARE NOT. And if you're just saying we're like 4chan in order to b!tch about what the forum has become, then like I said before, you're the only 4chan type thing here.
moderation would be handy dandy so good topics can flourish though. Things should be a little bit slacker in cr than elsewhere however. Serious business takes place in off topic and current news and debates.
