Or the excalibu in GS2 as there are only like 2 orihalcons in a non-linded game, they are hard to find, then you have to try and forge it right in order to get the excalibur.Also some of the hidden Items in tactics ogre (underground and you have to dig them up)

it is true that there's only one master ball in pokémon, Agatio, but it's really easy to get, and there are many items in other games that aren't nearly as simple to aquire.

I haven't played THAT many games, but I'll say maybe the Gems from Harvest Moon:FoMT. especially the Kappa Gem (I think it is), because you can only get to the lake mine during the winter (unless you have the teleport stone). anyway, that's the only one I can think of right now.

Agreed. I have defeated ONE enemy 1000 times and i still haven't got ONE crystal ore. DAMN THAT 2%!

Yeah you have go go to a special place in real life to have it put on your cart, it's so rare it isn't even in the game!

well, that of get a game shark. I think that if you do use the game shark, Mew becomes like a plague, and are as common as vermin.

Actually, I don't find it rare, in Anemos Ruins there's an enemy that drop Orihalcons, a simple RNG could make you get 30 or more.

Also there's a trick for getting the Excalibur pretty easy.

Yeah, I had a gameshark when I owned Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, and Silver; and with it you could do nearly anything, even make your own custon Pokemon! I used it to make legendary Pokemon (Mew, Celebi, etc.) wild and they became quite a pest after a while.

1-up mushrooms in Mario Golf (GBA) are pretty rare.

actually, i know a good cheat to get mew in blue version. here it is-To get Mew through a glitch, you should not have defeated the youngster with the Slowpoke by Bill's house or the Gambler between Celadon and Lavender yet. Also, you must have Fly. Make sure to have a weak Pokemon that can safely weaken a Pokemon at level 7, or have some Ultra or Master Balls. Go through the underground passage, and as soon as you exit, do not move. Save the game at this point. Then, walk one step down and immediately press Start. If done corectly, the gambler will not notice you. Go directly to the Pokemon status screen and Fly to Cerulean City. Ah yes...Misno (maybe?), the glitch that gets you limitless items; I remember. He's found at Cinnibar Island, next to the building in the upper-right corner of the island; you have to "surf" to find him .

Back to the topic: It's pretty difficult to get the Parade Kart in in Mario Kart: Double Dash (I just unlocked it today; totally worth the frustration ^_^ )

Rarest Items... Dpends really on what you mean by rare. Omnislash is incredibly hard to get, not rare because you can see it for yourself...

The master ball in Pokemon Ruby and Saphire is really hard to get cuz if u dont get it once u cant get it. It is in the Magma/Aqua cave in Lilycove. If you dont take a sidetraked path you'll never get it.

the rarest item i ever got was exactly a master ball, just in pokemon crystal, in that lottery contest. i traded with 53 different trainers and restarted the game lotsa times (i even had two pokemon with the sam ID number one from a friend and one mine! -_- )

and i wanted to say that i didnt like the way camelot subestimated excalibur. its supposed to be the ultimate weapon for an ultimate warrior, like murasame/masamune in other games, but the Sol Blade is much stronger...

The Triforce in OoT is definately the rarest item ;) lol.

The item I found the hardest to get in any game would probably be the stupid Kikuichimonji in GS. I havn't played many RPG's, and no other genre really has 'rare' items.

Omg, and Entei in Silver, I spent so many hours of my life trying to get into the same route as him, and then hoping to encounter him, and then trying to catch him using swift balls or whatever they were called :D.
I then spent even more hours of my life training him up to level 89 :blink: :D. I had no life... :P

Ook that is a major time difference. Umm I find the excalibur 2 in ff9 the hardest of em all, with some of those it takes long hours of fighting to gte, but this weapon you gotta beat the game super fast to get it!! And I foudn out something but it's a little off topic but the exclibur's uleash in gs2 is stronger then the sol blades unleash. I used the sol blade and got 700 from it's unleash, then I gave that guy the excalibur and I did 800 for all 3 sword drops, so excalibur is the ultra weapon lol well it'll be if you have hyper boots on since it raises criticles lol.

The hardest item I can think of is the crossbow in Azure dreams. I've entered the tower like 500 times and gotten it ones(the tower is 40 floors high). There's only two ways to get it and both are nearly impossible, very low % chance.

I haven't played a "variety" of games, but the Dark Sword is pretty darn hard to get in GS2. It took me a long time to get that guy to forge it for me.

Yeah, I haven't played a big variety of games, but the rarest item I ever found was a Pan Lid in MapleStory, a level 10 shield for wizards and thieves. It doesn't sound like much, but it's the best shield for those two classes. :P Unfortunately I got ripped off when I sold it; I haven't found another one since. :P

Well if ya wanna talk about online rpg rare items then the dragon items on the Kalphite queen are super rare!!!!!! Member only but no one can kill her alone it's dam impossible!!! You need at least 10 full armored guys to kill her, and thats not bad enough she has tons of hp with a 12 hit is very high in the game, you can get poisoned, she has 985 hp, in her first form she can't get hurt by magic or archery, in her second form she can't get hurt by melee weapons. And since when you fight with others you might not get the items from her since it goes to the one who did the most damage, and even if you win you'll get like 1 of teh 20 things she has. Now that is hard!!!! and she's in the 400 lvls, max player lvl is 126.

EDIT: Crap I said all that and didn't even say where it was from lol but it's from Runescape.

Wow you found one!? What monster did you killed for that?

The rarest item I can think of now is probarly Master Ball, altough you CAN get more of them with just damn luck.

Another rare item I think it's the red saber from Phantasy Star Online. And the Power Up Badges in Paper Mario TTYD are pretty rare.

e.g Some monsters appear once or twice in 1 particular dungeon, and even then the odds of them dropping a certain item can be around 1 in 256 or sometimes higher.

Some of the items in Animal Crossing can only be gotten on specific days and others are almost impossible to get. Surely Animal Crossing has to have the rarest items available!
