Me being one of those people who really hate to play a game on a pay per month basis and stuff like that, would never do something like that if we don't really, really have to. By the looks of it, we're going to be able to keep this game free for a long, long time, so don't you worry about it. It's free.

Also, it's not really going to be an MMORPG [Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game, for those that didn't know] but more of a combination of genres. Don't expect a full blown multiplayer RPG at all.

Of course it wouldn't be free. If you had to pay, GSW would be a complete flop, because most of the GS fans wouldn't be able to pay :D.

From the looks of it it's mostly a comunity thing. Sortof like, an interactive, virtual chatroom type thing happening, with a GS theme and GS inspired extras. Minigames will be in it, and possibly other random things AveneR and Max have been keeping secret :D.

It should be good :).

According to our current development schedule and plans, there is going to be a single .EXE file which is basically everything you need to start playing. We will also try to keep the filesize as small as possible to keep everyone happy. And by 'small', I mean we're definitely trying to keep it under a few megabytes.

Adding to what AveneR said, for dialup users we will have the file broken into pieces which can be reassembled into the one file again using a simple script. We will try to make it as easy as possible for all users to download and play GSW, regardless of internet connection (within reasons) and computer speed.

So will you download onto your computer, then open it, and play from there, or do you just access a web page that enables you to play? I just need this to be totally cleat for me, sorry.

why would you have to download to play it on the website?

Yeah. I think I started writing 'of course it wouldn't have a fee' or something like that :P

Agatio: You download the exe file, either in segments for convenience or as one file. You then run the exe file and it will connect you to GSW.

Yeah, I guess you can take that as an example if it helps making everything more clear to you. Don't worry about it though, you don't have to set-up or change anything in order to succesfully connect to the GSW. Although, that's not completely true, you musn't forget your username and password <_<

Yeah I wasn't a big fan of WOTA either, but this game looks awesome.

You only have to download it once and then run it locally (from your computer's harddrive). We will not have to make people redownload the game when we do updates to the maps or some other things which are dynamically generated from data on the server, but any gameplay improvement or bugfix releases will have to be re-downloaded.
