Where Is Gs Going? Noticed this quote at the main site...

In the first page of the History of GSS (back at the main site), I noticed this quote:

The Golden Sun community is currently in a downward spiral, but as long as people continue to visit GSS, the site will remain online.

The bolded part is what really caught my attention.

I had never given it much thought previously... what are your comments/ideas, etc. on it?

i agree...people are getting less and less interested in the game, partly the lack of news in the gs world, meaning no new things to discover, yadda yadda yadda, and no new game. thats the part. i think that if they're going to comeout with gs3, they should do it NOW. or else people will loose intrest for good. i myself will never loose intrest in it though :lol:

p.s. i loose spelled loose, or lose? cant remember

I hope so, more for the sake of GSW then for GSS. Just think. All that time wasted on an excellent community game, and nobody uses it :).

And GS was on a massive, steep downward spiral about a year ago. I think it's settled at a consistant popularity now... Mostly because the diehard fans remain, and the odd new member stays and goes every so often.

I stay here because of GSS, not GS.

GSS is like Lemuria, the only remaining remnant of the golden age of Golden Sun websites :).

It's not weird that GS gets less interests. It's been quite a while that GS TLA was released. But it is not a pity; if all members on this site stay on this site, there should be no decreasion of interest. A game can't be popular forever. It would be a shame, though, because this game is the best GBA game till now. There will be a GS 3, I'm sure of that. Camelot wouldn't be smart to not release a sequel. And we have still....... GOLDEN SUN WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GS is definetly one of the more creative video games for the GBA, not to mention the best RPG. Go to target.com and look at there reviews for GS1! Look at all the positive reviews for it! Camelot needs to make a GS3 for the series, I mean, right now alot of people still enjoy GS, so I don't think the community will ever die completely.
And the way they set up the ending, it showed that there might be a GS3.

yeah i mean, all the reveiws for Gs and TLA are atleast about a 7 out of 10. I saw one site gave it a 9.9 :) I believe as long as there are G.S. fanatics in this world, the gs comunity will live on...but it will probably shrink too.

lol. It's just like the plot of the game. The world of golden sun is shrinking.

Anyway, what we need is some more gs fansites with real quality in them. Right now, there are some huge gaming/anime sites and if a gs site could affiliate with them, the whole community would go up. Least thats my opinion.

Golden Sun could potentially be the successor to Final Fantasy...

But the GS "franchise" will wither to nothing if Camelot stops here.

maybe you were not there, but I witnessed the GS community in it's glory....
And except a Djinn Guide make something no other site has, interactive, humor? More original content? Ofcourse the announcement would make things far better then 10 new GS sites.... <_< But it would take atleast 2 years before GS3 will hit the stores... DO we have so much members when the GS3 comes out? I say no, unless some new interest is being made. Maybe start pulling out your GBA at your dusty old closet... Blow on your GS cartridge and start playing...... it will help, it helped me..

Unfortunately, I can't deny that the Golden Sun community is shrinking; but as long as their are dedicated fans, it will stay alive.

As far as I'm concerned, the community is only an extremely small portion of what it once was. I truly miss the glory days, they were incredible. All the sites were at their prime: GS Network, GS Online, Isaac's Revenge, GS Realm, GS Source... those were the days. I doubt many people here even remember the first Survivor tournament which made Isaac's Revenge so popular, and is the only reason you all are here today on this site, because this site wouldn't have existed if that tournament had not been as popular as it was. It's a shame that community sites like GS Network are no more...

It was like the TV show "Survivor", but it was a competition to see which of the GS websites was the best. Back then there were tons of sites (this was only about 3 months after Golden Sun was originally released) so it actually meant something and there was lots of good competition.

My firsr Golden Sun Site I visited was Isaac Revenge, it had some cool interactives, I have NO idea why GSS didn't come with them...

Dullahan: No, it did not have challenges like on the real show. It was simply a poll that visitors voted for a site to be voted off each week. And the last one standing was the winner.

Eugine: What interactives did not come over into GSS? I'm pretty sure we didn't intentially leave anything out.

Not really interactives, but were are the Music and Screensavers? >.< and it had Clan Wars if I recall correctly.

Yea, the good ol days! I wasn't there from the real beginning but I was there like a half year after GS was released.... Ahh so much new sites....

All 4 rocks
All 4 lightohuses still active...
Gs universe, The 4 lightohuses
Golden Lighthouses and all those things
Ofcourse theb ig ones
GS Realm GSAR ( was so cute in those days) and Isaac's revenge
and much much much and much more....

It's like the Golden Age of the Golden Sun Community....
Ah that was really great....
Hope this occurs again when GS3 comes out...
