Well, needless to say, Cell Phones are becoming far more technologically advanced (as with everything in this world, it seems =/). They are making communication effortless, and even starting to offer new forms of entertainment (cough PSP cough).
In Japan, anybody who is human has a cell phone- -_-… :mellow:
In a more practical view, there have been studies that show that extended use of cell phones can cause tissue damage and may even increase the risk of Cancer.
Perhaps not a hassle, but doomed to lead our lives certainly :D

As for the rest, I don't think they are a hassle because it's pretty easy to locate someone with them and vice versa. People can contact you easily o.o;
I use it a lot to remind my best friend of meetings and other stuff n.n;

You have radio signals emitting from a transmitter/receiver right beside your brain. I would think it would cause slight damage, but not enough to those of us who use it rarely.
Anyways, cell phones offer security, entertainment, and a cheap way to keep in contact with people.
I love cell phones and am somewhat of a collector.

:mellow: I haven't been using my cellphone much. But when school comes, I'm going to be using it a lot. :) Maybe.

PSP doesn't have phone capabilities. DS on the other hand....
Anyway, I only use my cellphone to call my mom from school if I need to get a ride or make sure she's coming. The main thing we got it for was that, but it also happened because my dad was upgrading his service, and we could do two lines for a good price. Plus, with the rebates, $200 phones cost nothing!

To Andross: I was just referring to the PSP’s movie and music playback capabilities- meh * shrugs *
To Nick: If you communicate via cell phones sparingly, then there should be little health hazard- however, extensive use (as in using a cell phone to call a friend who’s five feet from you :mellow: : ) ) is pushing it =/
I feel somewhat vulnerable if I ever leave my home without a cell phone… :)
* shudders *

In the year 2004 alone, I've had about 8 cell phones.
Things from the older StarTac, to the V60, V66, V300, Samsung A535, and I'm planning on getting the Motorola A1000.

EXACTLY! everyones like "oh you have a cell phone, are you going to be hanging out with the popular crowd now?" My responce "its for confirming my ride home, and if i have an emergancy, thats it." of course i don't get mad because i know they're kidding.
i think cellphones (contrary to popular belief) are definately not a hassle. its alot easier than using a payphone, or a school phone. home phones are better for calling your friends.

I have a Nokia 3200, cost me $300aud when I got it. Coour display, WAP, pretty good games, sends messages and calls (2 main things anyway). And it's small, so yeah, all around, it's a good phone. I'm with Vodaphone by the way, 60 free txt per credit re-charge.

I hardly ever use my mobile, but it comes in handy when organising outings and trying to work out where your friends vanished to in the city :smile:.
The cancer thing is exagerated far too much. Talking excessively will only cause minimal damage, and the normal amount of time you spend on a phone will do practically nothing to your tissue :D.
'mobile n00bs' are annoying too. Damn 11 year olds who insist on showing off their fancy ringtones >_<. Oh, and new cell phones actually sound kinda cool when they ring, unlike the old ones ^_^.
