Has anyone else noticed that GBA games and GBC games can really take a beating and keep going? My brother has sent 2 GBA games and a GBC game through the washing machine, and they still worked perfectly. My friend left a game outside for a month or two and it still worked perfectly.
Now think about what PSP games would be like if they went through that torment... those are CD ROMs, not cartridges. Theres another advantage of DS over PSP right there.

That's true, it's probably because they're so small so if they were dropped they'd still work.

Still gonna get a DS over PSP.

I read a story about a GBC that fell in a bucket of motor oil and still worked. Oh! And there was also a GBC that survived being run over by a lawn mower.

It proves that GBAs are very durable.

I have actually dropped by GBA out of my bedroom window onto the ground.

Despite the scratch (HUGE) on the screen and the broken battery cover, it works fine.

My GBA always falls on the ground (like, 2 feet drop onto a soft carpet); it's hard ground (concrete, wooden floors, etc.) that concerns me.

The games can take a beating but the gba itself can't, i shattered the screen on mine, with one too many punches, fortunately i bought a new one of my mate for £20. As for GC i've already broke 3 controllers, disintergrated the L2 button on my ps1 pad and breaking the right analogue, also broke 2 N64 pads, one had it's analogue ripped out, and i broke my gbc the same way as my gba.

                                            i need some anger management.

I have dropped my GBA plenty of times, and it still works fine. Also, I havn't pit my cartridges in cases for years (literally) and they still work the same as the day I bought them!

Yes, GBA can take a beating. I've dropped it soo much and only the battery thingy is broken. But tape works fine too me.

yeah! I found a tetris game (for the original GB) on the road. it was covered in dirt and the plastic case of the carterage was partially smashed and partially missing. I cleaned the dirt off and now it works perfectally fine.

wow bad luck that stinks alot. (sorry for the pun) The only system i have evr dropped was my GBC. It still works except that the battery cover broke a bit and the sound is lower than usual but other than taht it's fine. Since then I have treated my games better than ANYTHING else I own :)

I've never broken any of my pads purposefully. The only pads which I have and don't work are my mega drive pads from when I got my mega drive one 10+ years ago, and the only reason they don't work is because the biits of carbon or whatever that lie under the buttons have worn off on the inside of the pad which means that it dont register you pressing the buttons.
