Yup, the title says it all!

What do you think of the mmbn series in general, and what do you think of this two versions thing? I myself am afraid that it's gonna become as boring as pokemon. I actualy liked, and still like pokemon, but it isnt fun anymore... I guess they need the fan rate to sudenly drop to make some (hopefully cool) changes.

About the boring part.. Mmbn is becoming boring, yes. Try playing mmbn 4, you'll see what I mean, I don't want to give you any spoilers.

Even with all that, im going to keep playing mmbn, at least it always brings new stuff in each sequel! (darkchips!!)

What's your opinion about it, and it's future?

I love MMBN series. MMBN2 was arguably the best although I enjoyed 3 quite a lot. The Meteor folder from th RFF and the ProtoMan/Bubbleman Folder is great (Both of which I use) so it's fun. Not to mention I make my own folders.

I thought MMBN4 was good. The soul union system was different and didn't let you customize like MMBN2 and 3 did but I liked it.

I think MMBN could be going the way of pokemon especially with the special requirements such as the 200 chip minimum to face Serenade and others. It requires you to trade and collect instead of just battling and having fun.

Overall, I give the MMBN series a 9/10.

I understand that, I feel the same way about the series, maybe I was a bit too hard before. I was mainly talking about the, for example, *small spoiler* between tournament quests. Sometimes they ask you to go to places that are far away from your currently place, and that makes me wanna stop playing. But its the fact that its such a good game overall that makes me keep playing.

And in conclusion, my fear is that in any sequel soon I will get so frustrated with those little quests that it will ruin the pleasure of playing sucha great game with such a great gameplay! Its classified as an RPG, but its truly something diferent... You know what I mean if youve played the series.

Oh, and the souls... *tries to be polite* Are not as fun as the style changes. That was a BAD change.

I know. Style changes let your have over 25 different styles (Heat/Elec/Aqua/etc, Guts/Team/etc) while Soul only lets you have 3 or 4. It sucks.

The Dark side thing sucks too. I don't want to lose 1HP forever for something stupid like using a certain chip. It's dumb.

They should have kept the style changes and the darkchips, even though its the coolest thing in the game, should, for example, damage you in 100HP for each use instead of permanently remove 1HP!

I dont care about legit stuff as long as I stick to how the game is suposed to be. I mean I only dont use button combo codes or any kind of cheating device.

For example, thanks to GameFaqs and the numberman code machine in mmbn4-bm early in the game I had all my stats in 5 and I only didnt have 1000HP cause I couldnt fit both +500HP programs on the navi customizer! :!:

Its Capcoms fault for putting so powerfull programs easily in the hands of anyone with a internet connection. :silence:

I got MMBN4 Red Sun yesterday and I just got the Guts Soul.I was excited when I got it and it turns out to be pretty good but I havn't used it that much yet.I'm saving it for tough fights or bosses.I like the game series alot.I haven't played 1&2 cuz I couldn't find them anywhere and decided to get 3 instead.I liked the style changes alot and even tho the souls aren't as good I still like them.Overall the game gets 7.5/10

I, officially, am obsessed with the MMBN franchise (I call it EXE for short), and it's very popular amongst America and Japan alike. I'm not entirely sure about Europe, but it's all in the same.

Well, take into consideration that you can fight "Omega" level enemies.

Ex: You fight Alpha Omega at the end of the game.

I can't believe I forgot the Zero Series! Well, MMZ1 chewed me up and spit me out, but I did considerably better in MMZ2; all Elves, all Forms, and EX Weapons.

Anyone else think that Commander Elpizo was a girl until Ciel referred to him as a "he"? Either way, he's still the coolest boss character, albeit a bit weak.

Megaman Battle Network 4 was a so-so game...Graphics I enjoyed and battle system...Basically everything improved...Except the story...The story was too basic and bland...Doing errands, defeating the tornemants and defeating a dark navis...Too repetitive...
Personally, I like the MMZ series the best...Dispite what game magazines and sites say...Zero is definately the coolest in my opinion...And the 3 guardians of X: Harupia, Leviathan and Fenrir...

I have to agree with you, there; Megaman & Bass and Megaman 8 are my favorites. I just wish that there were more Original MM games with those graphics, like, if Capcom would continue the saga.

I've only played MMX-treme, which I'm pretty sure was a remake of one of the older MMX games on the GBC.

Well, looks like the EXE series is bringing in some nostalgia from previous games, so it's safe to say EXE is a continuation of all the other MegaMan games.

Speaking of which, they should bring in a revamped Tron Bonne, and there should be some sort of signature virus conspiracy, when the servbots become actual viruses in EXE, and she's to blame for it. Maybe she'll have the youngest member of the Bonne family as her Navi (if I could remember his name) ...

absolutely. Megaman zero is the ultimate best megaman game (in my opinion). The battle network games have severly lost their touch since battle network 2. I agree. MMBN2 is better than 3 or 4. 4 is just crazy. That game is way too easy. You have to go through many games (after you beat the game, you go onto hard mode, after that, super hard mode, after that it continues infinitely on super hard). normal mode has level one and ex viruses. hard has level 2 and 2ex, super hard has level 3 and 3ex. The game is way too easy as I said before. Megaman zero 3 comes out today! The same day Im posting this. Ill go to a game store in a few days to get it... he he.

I absolutely hated the tournaments in MMBN4, it just got so repetitive, and annoying. What was the worse thing though was that you had to play 3 TIMES to actually beat everytihng 100%. I just wish they'd made the hard mode like in MMBN2 or sumthin.

Hey, MysticWarrior, what exactly do you do in the minigames in MMZ3? I realise that you can play as the Four Guardians, but what do you do? Do you play full missions with them?

No. It's just that - a minigame.

On Zero's Mini-game, you get to kill bees w/ the recoil rod as they fly at you.

On Ciel's Mini-game, you guide balls into their correct hole by opening and shutting doors. This is done on a computer.

On X's Mini-game, you have to blast element chips. X can switch element to destroy the opposing element. Fire>Water>Thunder>Fire.

On Harpuia's Mini-game, you ride Aztec Falcon. You have to avoid spiked pillars, holes, and being crushed by walls, and you can slash at bees to kill them in your way.

In Fefnir's Mini-game, you can go left to right, protecting 4 crates from those little things that carry spike balls in mmz1.

In Leviathan's Mini-game, you can spear mechaniliod fish to gain +1 seconds. Combo's gain you more seconds. Spearing real fish loses 5 seconds. You start with 30 seconds.

In Phantom's Mini-game, you have to jump from shuriken to shuriken around 10,000 feet in the sky. If you fall, game over. Jump over spike balls to avoid losing lives.

Basis: Smack your opponent around with area-wide attacks.

The main combo is to use Lavastage for them to suffer a while, then Volcano to use up all of your lava panels, then use Blkbomb on a lava panel. The Blkbomb immediately explodes on impact of a lava panel. If it doesn't land on a lava panel, a Volcano will both attack the enemy and Blkbomb, dealing double damage. Magnum2 is to also light the Blkbomb, and prevent movement.

The Gutsmen are there to eliminate the panels of your opponent, restricting their movement for you to freely attack him/her with chips. It also takes out lava panels, if you just don't feel like waiting.

Areagrabs are for more damage in Volcanos, and to counter other Areagrabs.

Invis/Mole is for defense.

Fullcust and Foldrbak are for fluidity.

Basis: This folder utilizes the might of Gutsman. The main P.A. here is the crude P.A. GtsShoot.

Since most of these attacks require extreme luck to connect or a paralyzed opponent, a lot of paralyzing chips have been added. The Gutsmen on their own can crack the enemy panels and restrict movement.

The other attack of this folder are the GutImpct's. They pack quite a punch (/pun), but the offsets of the GutImpcts are their poor range. That's why MetaGels have been added. Metagels will keep your opponent from standing in front row, so you can steal away. Also, the paralyzing chips stated above not only helps with GtsShoot, but GutImpct as well.

Each chip that are a part of the P.A. can be used seperately. Guard for defense, DashAttack for... attacking... and Gutsman to deal damage and restrict movement.

Guard and Invis are for defense.

FullCust and FoldrBak are for fluidity.

The main dish here are the Pawns and Varswords. It's suggested you place one Pawn each on the top and bottom of your opponent's front row, use Condor to lure them into the pawns, and then Magnum the middle row (if you can't aim, just let it go for a while. It'll stop on the middle row after a while) like so:

After that, you can either smack them around with pawns, kill them off with Varsword, or throw a Geyser into one of the holes (preferably the middle one). The Protomen are side damage.

The Areagrabs prevent the opponent from areagrabbing you, and easier placement of Pawns.

Invis and Shadows are for defense.

FullCust and FoldrBak are for fluidity.

I'm at a stalling point on MMZ3. Although I kicked MMZ and MMZ2's arses, I just can't seem to steadily slide through MMZ3's stages. I am yet so far behind (the first four stages, it seems), and I've tried all the stages at the beginning, yet I fail them all. I have gotten close to defeating the bat-like boss created by Dr. Weil, but that's as far as I can get right now. Any suggestions?

In any MMZ boss battle, its best to be patient...
First time around, try to beat the game first...
Then 2nd time around get the Ex Skills, disk, etc.

Hellbat Silt is annoying when he teleports but its best to take it slowly...
His attacks aren't hard to dodge so I don't see why its so hard...

Oh, you mean Harupia (sp?). He's one of the Four Generals, but he wasn't as hard for me. You just gotta dodge all his slashes, and he follows a rather simple pattern, so memorize what he does.

Trust me, it was hard for me, too, but I always wanted a challenge. And look where I stand on the basis of beating 2 out of the 3 games so far.

Maybe Sweden didn't really get MMZ3, or you just haven't been out for a while. Either way, it's out there already on game store shelves; in Japan, America, and even Europe.

Ok, I seriously hope it's ok to do this, It IS an official/untouched topic after all.

Does anyone know what happens to Harupia, Fenfir and Leviathan after MMZ3? I have heard no word of them being in MMZ4, so theories?
