The NNintendo DS is scheduled to be released in 2004, much to my surprise as well as a lot of other peoples, but the cost was expected. It will be released with Metroid Prime Hunters on November 21 in the USA, 20 days after the PSP release. It comes in silver and black, though later there will be more colors. It only is compatible with GBA games and of course DS games. The cost of the DS is $150. Amazingly, there is a free chat thing that lets you communicate with all DS owners. I don't know the range, but I expect it to be unlimited, and whether that is with both the communication and multiplayer remains to be seen. Interesting how Sony rushed to get it out eariler then Nintendo. Maybe they hope that everyone spends their money and doesn't have enough left to buy the DS?

I still don't know why Sony made a portable DVD/CD pla- I mean, game system.

The release date for the PSP was delayed because of the DS's arrival. I heard the wireless connection can reach thousands of miles. You can also connect with up to 16 people within 30 feet for wireless gaming.
