Well, it appears as though alot of the new people here need help getting an avatar and signature, do you think that maybe a topic should be posted in the forum help section on how to put up an avatar/signature? I could provide it, and include screen shots.

Sounds good. As a lot of the new members here are new to the whole forum. I would like to see it happen. A flash movie would be nice too, though a little hard.

Hmm. Perhaps Max could have that Global Announcement thing up with the Rules and "How to..." topic.

The best place would be a link next to the rules saying "Forum Tutorial", with a link to a page on the site (preferably), with the tutorial there.

That'd be good, a place on the site. Also, it would be more content, like people are begging for. :angry:

again, I could provide, even do it in HTML, probably, and with screenshots and stuff. I wouldn't mind. =)

If only people would use their eyes, they would see the "Help" link at the top of every single page... However if someone writes a tutorial or series of tutorials I would seriously consider making it a global announcement, or at least make sure it gets sent to every new members of the forum.

I think Sheba's right. This would draw more attention and not take as much time setting up as a tutorial.

They need help with editing, posting, avatar/sig, profiles, etc.

I'd do it, if you trusted me, Max. I could try to do it in HTML, or just text...
All the HTML would be, is like line breaks, and different stuff, nothing really creative....

You two can go ahead and create a tutorial if you want. Use BBCode, not HTML if possible. I won't guarantee that I'll put it up, but if you do a good job the chances are pretty high.

Well, that would be the easiest way to put it in a global announcement/sticky... If it requires people to click on another link less people will look at it.

Well, you should have a topic, with a link to each chapter of the tutorial. I'll be doing it over about 10 or so chapters, perhaps more. So if they need help, they go to that sticky topic, and click the link to the chapter that they need help with. I've taken images for avatars, signatures, photos and personal profile information, and I'm starting to write it now.
