Um, anyone know if Julian or MW still come here and fulfill moderation duties? Other than that, it's really only Forte, Nick, and Silo who keep a close eye on the forum. Not having a stab, I just haven't seen them lately, and wondering if a new mod might be picked soon. *hint hint*.

Julian has been on indefinite leave for a long time, and it doesn't look like he will be returning. MW had to leave temporarily, and I haven't heard from him since he left. We have considered adding additional moderators, but we do not feel that it is necessary. The active mods are very active and are doing a more than adequate job moderating the forums.

i think nthe current mods spend so much of their time on here that this really isnt a problem. We COULD get more but it would probably be needles. Then again, what drawbacks are there to having more?

I agree with you there Raven, the current 2 (Silo and Forte), spend 90% of their day on these forums :D . And are doing the job mighty well lately I must say. I'm really just wondering about MW and Julian though, as they have not been active at all lately.

Last time I talked to MW he was obsessed with a MMORPG, he hasn't been on the last two times I checked, so I'm not entirely sure what's up with him.

Julian is in a mindset of "the internet is for geeks, I'm too cool for that, I'm not going on any forums". He's an amazingly cool person, but he seems to have totally lost interest in the internet, which is a shame as he is a great designer (seens GSAR v6, Rustboro City v2 or Age of the Adepts v3?).

MW is too caught up in Maple Story, which is odd, but it's his choice I guess. Again, a great chap, but a little too uninterested in GSS anymore.

ok um..dont hurt me but i was thinking about this and, it seems to me, (im aware julian and MW just returned and that this might change), there arent any mods on duty (during school term) for a period of about 8 hours that go GMT about 8am to 4pm. Possibly cos they are based in unfavourable time zone. Maybe the hiring of a mod that could deal with these times, um...people from australia would cover it until 12ish (sorry for using GMT - im tired otheriwse i would convert) and then i gues it could last until a little longer

If this is a stupid and irrelevant suggestion then my apologies^^

Mod's really aren't needed since most mods spend so much time on the forum/internet and they're doing a great job.

If I had to vote though, I would prefer Agatio or someone strict for moderator.

We don't NEED a mod for 8am-4pm EST because if something happens during the day, it can wait a few hours for a mod to see it. Most people aren't on during the day at that time anyways.

And if you find something during the day that needs dealt with ASAP, report it and when the mods sign in, they will find it right away.

Reporting offenses is the easiest and fastest way to get a response from us.

Well, although I don't post much outside SPAM, even though I'm trying to post more often in places other than that. I've actually been a mod somewhere else, and I was a decent one since I was very active and checked things often. But you don't have to make me a mod, itll be ok if you don't make me one. But then again, this forum will probably be difficult for me to moderate; its bigger than the forums I've moderated. So I'm actually quite experienced with Moderation controls.

Of course, I'm aware that if I am chosen as the next mod, that time of the Moderator Nominees will not be very soon.

Well I have saw no post on MW VERY long... And I don't see Julian that often. And Silo and Forte are active in Spam I can say that but I live in another time zone and I can swear whatever I want in TRT if I would like... But I don't. For God's sake! Why does every topic concerning moderators turn into a "why I would make a good moderator" thread. Close this now, the question has been answered.

I just wanna add my two cents in ...

There will be no more moderators. None. Unless Max really feels the need for some, then there will be more nominees. As stated, me and Forte moderate the forums all the time, and we get the job done, no matter how long it was that a report came in. If you guys have any questions at all (and I mean any), PM us, and we'll answer them in the best way that we can.

Concerning MW, he's returned. He stopped playing Maple Story, but when that happened, his internet was shut off for a whole week. But now he's back. He lives in California, so he's usually on around late at night (preferrably around 11:30 EST), which is around 9:30 his time. In other words, he's still alive, but not as active as he used to be.

Like Agatio said, Julian gave up his interests on internet activities. He's seeing the more reasonable side to life (as we all should be), but that doesn't mean that he's gone for good. Occasionally, he adds his own witty banter to a few topics, but that's it. Don't expect him to be as active.

On a side note about the moderators, really, there is a good chance that in the next couple of months that there would be nominess, but there would be no reason to add more to the roster. The result (if there were more moderators) would be over-time security, which would be a waste, since GSSF is a particularly well-moderated forum, and only in the most dire of times for GSSF is when we would need moderators.

That is final. There will be no more discussion about this. If anyone asks, by all means, show them this post. It will definately bring light on the subject.
