By the waY I searched for any Monkeyball topics but the Search didn't find any so don't blame me if there's already one. :agitated:

I never played this game. I'd like to hire it out some time though, if anyone still stocks GC games in Aus :\.

It's just great for a laugh, it's not one of those serious games like Halo or Counter-Strike. You play it solely for the fun factor, and secondly for the competition factor. =)
I'm going to get SMB2 as soon as I complete 1. =)

Put it this way, the game is so simple it only has a maximum of 3 buttons to use. A Button to zoom map, Start Button to pause, and... Umm there was one more I think... Nope I think that's it actually. So 2 buttons. lol

I gotta say though, Super Monkeyball had the best credits screen ever. :)
Rather than sitting there watching stupid names scroll down, you actually have to dodge the letters from each name. I used to curse at the people who had really long names since it made my job harder. ^_^

I rented this game, and though it's old and may have lost a little bit of its shine, it really is a modern reincarnation of an arcade game. The platforming is creative and difficult, the party games are addicting for 1 or 4 people, and the ability to save replays is great for embarassment. I have to say I'm hooked once again on this game, and may be my next purchase (Player's Choice :agitated:)

After reaching 1000 posts, I assume you've realized what is acceptable at these forums. Apparently, you still can't distinguish from pointless and not pointless. - MD

If I get a Wii, I am so going to check out the Wii version for this thing. I'm sure Wii will bring a whole new experience thanks to the controls.

I personally like the challenge mode the best simply because of the fact that you can beat your own record and not spend hours on the same level.
But the party games are definitely the best.

Speaking of monkey boxing, there's a minigame by that name in the first Ape Escape game.

I must have put about €50,- into it all together and can say it was worth it. (well not €100,-, but at least €20,-)
I believe there is a new one coming for the Wii.

My only concern is that it won't be too sensitive or too not sensitive because with a game like Monkeyball that can make a big difference. So they'll have to perfect that.

Finally, we're to the big question, which is, of course, does it work? The answer is yes. But it's not something that falls into place the first time you pick up the Wii-mote and give it a try, which surprised us. Much like the first time we played Metroid Prime 3, you'll need to experiment and come to grips, so to speak, with the new configuration. With fewer than five minutes of practice under our belts, we found ourselves more easily navigating the levels and simultaneously more comfortable with the controller. That noted, playing with the Wii-mote initially feels more difficult than moving about with the traditional analog stick setup, but in time we - as we become more accustomed to the maneuverability intricacies - we expect that to change.
It seems all my worries were for naught according to the IGN people.

I'm definitely getting at least 5 games at once, if I buy the Wii. Or just look sweet towards your parents, show them your report card.

The default controls are a bit too sensitive, however, and stopping isn't as smooth as the rest of the actions, but overall, it's an impressive feel, and the ability to jump is also a welcome addition.

Seriously though, I kind of expected the controls to be sensitive. But I'm sure that if this was a game you devoted time to, you could get used to that (as long as you don't drop the controller =P).

It gives a similar thrill as shooting people down and winning in battlefield. It tests you.
