Well, when I read up on the game it showed promising ratings so I am thinking about buying this game. Now what caught my eye was that on the Gamecube version of this game and the ability to unlock Mario, Luigi, and Peach. The classic Mario game characters on a NBA game?!?!?! Crazy idea or marketing gold mine. You decide.

How does Mario manage to wangle his way into all these games - plus he's short...basketball plus short and fat...yeah. Jumps high though. Infact that would look so random it might be appealing.

I hear what you mean RB. Like I said maybe this is a good idea I don't know but it would be fun to see. Don't you agree? Also peach will be in the game. The first female character in a NBA game!!!! To bad she isn't real :D

So far from what I have seen it's only Mario, Luigi and Peach that are in the game.(Hopefully) I hope that all. I want an NBA game with NBA player not Mario characters. Nintendo can go and make it's own NBA Basketball game with it's own Mario characters. Anyways this is only for the Gamecube addition not for the Xbox and PS2.

Not only Mario, but they've also got the Beastie Boys--along with Mix Master Mike--to add to the basketball team roster.

Personally, it interests me that they're putting Mario on a popular arcady basketball game (although I don't appreciate basketball), since, going back on what VD21 says, you need to jump to be able to get the ball in the hoop. With that, I'm pretty sure the Mario team has their own set of unique dunking moves.

Do you know what I find amusing about all of this. In Mario Party 6, you can win a rare Mini-game and play two-on-two basketball with all the characters in the game. It's ironic to see them put them in a arcade version of real NBA characters.

That is just stupid. This is not how I wanted Vol. 3 to come out. That is just a huge marketing scam. I mean, what about the ppl like me, who love sports but hate Mario and buy the NBA street series because of the NBA!!! WTF is Mario doing in this game, I don't know.

There is a simple answer to that SOT. Just don't play with Mario. ._. Play with the regular characters. Also if you have another system besides Gamecube buy the game for your PS2.

                            Agreed.

If you cry and whine about how Mario is in V3, it's not gonna do you any good, seeing how you can easily avoid even playing as the team. It's the same reason why I didn't like Duel Masters starting to share the MegaMan Battle Network series, but if you can avoid it, there won't be any trouble.

This game is pretty sweet-looking. I mean, the arcady gameplay and the graphics do it some good, and the Franchise mode sounds interesting. After all, in my opinion, simulation-type games are pretty addictive.
