ABC News: Family: Heart Attack Victim Moved for Michael Jackson

Words cannot express my reaction to that article. They moved a patient who had a heart-attack for a celebrity who had the flu? :D

I don't know what to say except for the obvious. something really needs to be done...this is inexcusible and unacceptable. I wish the family complete success in their court cases.

That is totally unbelievable - What a messed up world we live in. I bet that had something to do with the amount of money he was paying or the publicity that the hospital would get. I hope they wint their court case too because that is NOT on.

Well, IMO, I do think this is just....well, unbelievable. Why do they have to favor the celebrity with the flu over the woman who had heart attacks that needed urgent attention? There's no reason for justifying this, Micheal Jackson may be a famous celebrity, but that doesn't mean they should favor him over an old-age person who needs urgent assistance! They have crippled the woman's family like that!

people act like celebrities are Gods these days. people kiss there traces in the mud when they walk trough it. I think they did the right thing sueing both Jackson and the hospital. Jackson could have done something about it. "No, this women is in bad condition, I will take another room." could have been his answer. but no, Mr. Jackson stayed quiet, leaving the women to her death.

I do not like most of the celebrities these days, but this isn't normal anymore. he took precious time from them, just by NOT saying anything. a large amount of money can't even make this right, what he did, could not be undone.

Yeah, it was as if they treated the women as inferior compared to a celebrity!

But it was the hospital's descision, not Micheal Jackson's about the woman, so I think it is unfair that he was sued.

No, he is also responsible. it was his choise if he wanted that room or not. he probably knew the women was in bad condition due to the room she was in and how she was wired. if he is such a God to get that room, he can also be such a God to not take the room.

Thats probably what SOME people think, but usually in the hospital when your taken to be checked, I doubt they let you pick what room to be in. So I doubt it was his fault.

                      3. M.J. was probably trying to get out his trial, too.

Flu?!? What kind of excuse is that??? You can cure that without going to the hospital!! Why are these people so paranoid about celebritys?? If they didnt have room in one hospital, then they could move it to another but noooooooooooooo, they HAVE to have michael Jackson in their hospital, because of the money they'll get. That makes me want to wretch

I totally agree with all that has been said. I have a story similar to that.

A woman in britian was having her baby. She was taken to the nearest hospital, which happend to be a private hospital. They booked her into a room and then looked up her insurance. It did not cover the cost of everything, so the hospital kicked her out of the room into a ambulance to take her to a different hospital. On the way there the woman died along with her baby............ The hospital refused to be interviewed.

As Raven said, What a messed up world we live in.

I read about the MJ story today, and I couldn't believe what I was reading. How could the hospital staff, so called medical 'experts', move the woman when they knew how potentially dangerous that could be? If the hospital wanted good publicity etc, they would have benefited much more if they had not moved her and given her a chance to survive. And MJ only has the flu?? Good grief.

It's dumb that they let him take the room probably just because he's a celebrity. The flu won't kill you unless you have AIDS, and a heart attack has a good chance of killing you no matter what. Also, the woman was 74-years-old. What happened to respecting elders?

We find people and ourselves always looking at celebritys, making stupid reality tv shows about them, have all sorts of shows and interviews while forgeting ourselves and the average people around us, but even with this current view and support for them they never support average people. They never send us money, build somthing for the public, etc. I truly believe that people must learn to view celebritys as normol people before things get to out of hand.

Have you heard the recent MJ news? It is so shocking. The pido a.k.a, Michael jackson, gets young kids drunk, and then shows them pornographic pictures and sexually harasses them. He also masturbated 2 kids. He really sickens me.

                                            *clenches fist*

What kind of world is this?

Some stupid singer has the flu and they treat him like he got stabbed in the throat.

Yet for HIM they move out a poor loved grandma to a 2nd rate room to DIE!

I thought he was bad already...but this...crosseses the line!

Well, they probably did not want the Woman to die, but her illness was far more serious than MJ's.

I knew it would happen, for any celebrity. It's sick and twisted.
