I recently beat the newest Starfox game and I thought, we need a topic here about Starfox. If you need help or have a need to speak about it, here's the place.

I have updated MysticWarrior's pinned "Official Games" topic by adding in this one, regarding Star Fox; this will be the official topic for all Star Fox related discussions.

That having been said, I have played the original Star Fox for the SNES and I also played, though I never completed, Star Fox 64. I have to say, however, that the former was fantastic! It is one of my all-time favourite games of all time.

Interestingly, Star Fox for the SNES was one of the first, if not the first, game featuring 3-D capabilities, via a new chip that was made (I don't recall its name at the moment, but it was something to the effect of the "SFX graphics" chip.)

Yeah, it had a new chip. And the N64 one was great, but the new one adds a new dimension. On foot fighting.

I believe that Krystal is also a playable character in Star Fox Assault, no? I do also know that there are three forms of combat: the classic Arwing, on foot (as you mentioned), and the Landmaster Tank.

Yes, and Krystal is only useable in multiplayermode.
            But the battle system pwns.

I have been waiting for a topic like this!! SA was brilliant- the puzzles, the story, graphics ( really, really awesome, some of the best ever) and an OK combat system. I know how to pull off the coolest combo. I cannot WAIT for starfox assualt, as fox looks so much better with a huge meaty gun, or in a landmaster. I cannot wait!!!

I beat Starfox Assalut on Bronze level. It PWNS!
The guns are well rounded, and the combat is good. And they have done something never done in starfox before, a challenging finnal boss.
