Which extracting program do you prefer? I use both WinZip and WinRar, haven't heard of any others... They both extract things of the same file typres, but WinRar extracts .rar files and some RPG Maker Stuff that is "specialized" to some extent.

WinRAR > Winzip with the exception of a FEW files that I don't use.

      I prefer WinRAR.

WinRAR isn't free, right? Yeah, my RM2K3 resources sometimes come in .rar and all those Breath of fire chipsets are useless to me.

They all compress and extract, so I'm really not fussed.

Actually, Windows XP has a self-extracting mechanism for stuff like that, but sometimes it can be encrypted beyond extraction, so that's where WinRAR comes in.

                    That's one reason I don't use it.

WinRar is not free. You can, however, download a trial. I got Winrar from a friend, so...yeah...

So basically, there's some files WinXP can't extract - for everything else there's WinRAR.

...I had the trial, but it expired on me. Since then, I just use the self-extraction thing built into Windows XP.

Heh, WinZip is better than the Windows extracter... by far... and WinRar beats that, and then... dunno... Lol...

The advantage of WinRAR is that it extracts blazingly fast, for anyone that is wondering.

I use WinRAR most of the time.

I use a program called PKZIP which has many features like winrar and winzip, but the only problem is it isn't cheap. :D
