Well, as for me, I would say Windows media Player, better sound and grapics than QuickTime if its not just me, and it can be easily customized. :o

Oh yeah, there are only media players that I have heard of, and I also put the 'Other' option if your favorite isn't on the list. Also, when you vote other, please post in this topic about the media player you would have voted for.

Winamp is cool. It has nice skins and stuff :). Plus, it plays files that WMP doesn't, like OGG Vorbis.

and WMP can be a bit buggy. And it's a microsoft program, so there has to be some malicious intent or gaping loophole in it somewhere :o.

WMP for ripping, Winamp for playing.
WMP doesn't support all my files, so I use Winamp for that.
Also, I use quicktime for videos.

Windows Media Player because it allows me to rip my music and has decent features and customizations.

I use Winows Media Player for music, QuickTime for DVD's, although I don't normally use the computer for DVD's, I listen to music more on it.

I voted Quicktime. Pretty useful, especially when you want to view the video on the right page.
Anyway, I've only ever used Quicktime and Windows Media Player, so I might want to changes my vote later on.

I use Windows MP, but sometimes when I feel like messing up sounds. I use Creative. It's just so freaking funny when you watch flash movies with the pitch really high! :D

I voted WMP because I listen to music on that and I hardly watch videos on the computer, as I said before.

I personally use iTunes, because I have an iPod so I just put all my songs onto that.

I've really only heard of WinAMP, WMP, and QT for movies/audio.

The rest I don't know or need since the above three do the job perfectly.

Im going to say Windows Media player as the differences between all of them are pretty much negligable as they all play music, and WMP happens to be the one installed on my laptop.

Well, recently noticed something with Videos on quicktime and WMP: WMP has better sound, but QuickTime has better graphics, so I guess I would say QuickTime for Videos, but overall, still WMP; I listen to music more than watch Computer Videos, and I think WMP is exellent for music.

It depends on the quality of your sound files, and your speakers. I very highly doubt Quicktime has anything to do with quality loss Gimli.

I apoligize of bumping is not allowed (though I think its allowed), but....

My Media Player opinions have changed. Here is what i use:

                                          CD Ripping/Playing- Windows Media Player
                                          Audio- iTunes
                                          Movies- QuickTime
                                          DVD- InterActual Player
Best one IMO- iTunes (I listen to music alot.)

However, I still have RealPlayer installed, though I barely use it.

WMP is the best for ripping. Winamp rips in m4a format, meaning I can't put it on my creative :D . I use winamp for everything else, and Nero Showtime for DVD's.

                                                  m4a = AAC-format Audio.
I know this because iTunes can rip in multiple audio formats (including aac, aiff, Apple Lossless mp3, and wav), though I still find WMP better when it comes to Audio CD ripping and playing. In WMP, you can wip in either WMA or mp3 audio format, so I set that to mp3 w/192 kbps.
