    How do you make a pop up alert? Like, it'll say "Welcome to GSSF", and then there's a button to hit okay. How do you do that? Is it possible to do in HTML, or PHP?
    Thanks in advanced,
    Betrayer

        I recommend not doing such a thing, as that just annoys people. I think there's a script to make a floating pop-up that doesn't make the alert beep though, so you don't have this JS generated pop-up that isn't stylish. Try looking around http://www.dynamicdrive.com

          Yes, those windows, while cool at first, become increasingly annoying the more you see them.

          I suggest against it.

            They ARE annoying, but I know why he wanted to know this. It is javascript that can trigger this.

              It doesn't have to be used in conjunction with a page load, either.

              For example, you can put this in between your <head> tags:

              <script language="JavaScript">
              <!--
              function alert()
              {
              alert("Weee!");
              }
              //-->
              </script>

              And then put this somewhere in the body:

              <form>
              <input name="alert" type="button" value="click me!" onClick="alert()">
              </form>

              That way it'll only come up when you click the button.

              Otherwise, just making an alert pop up when you load a page is just plain useless and annoying.

                  Without clicking the link... would that be the "Most Annoying Page Ever?" with 150 alerts? lol

                  Been there, haven't done it, and fortunately I never plan on doing anything like that.
