My brother was stupid/retarded enough to make GMail notifier automatically log in to his account, and now I can't get notifications for my account! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but that did not work. Neither did going to the GMail site, logging in with my account, and trying again.
How do you get it to the log in screen? I really need help here... And NOT from the person who's to blame (a.k.a. Gimli the Great).

Odd. I thought that with GMail Notifier, you still have to login via IE's interface. If that were the case, the login screen would still pop up (but with the saved username password). Your problem is beyond me, bub, but I'm not surprised Gimli would do something like that.

If you can, run regedit, and go to something similar to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Google\GMail Notifier and modify any keys that could pertain to an auto-login so that they're blank. (I had to do this with Google Desktop on my computer once at work after I changed network accounts, because it only runs for the user that installs it.)

Really? Wierd, because I was the one who installed GMail notifier on this computer...
And musicman, I copied and pasted that into my browser address bar, but it said "The address is not available from this machine". What windows version do you use? I need instructions for XP.

Nobody, this is what you do, you disconnect your computer from your internet, so unplug your Ethernet cord or if you have dialup dont connect, then restart your computer, and it will popup showing the login info when u start up only if your not connected

I only know this is cause my wireless card is slow sometimes and it takes forever to connect and that pops up after a while, but if I connect fast it doesnt show

That didn't work either; it just delayed the time it logged on.

That is a location in teh registry. If you didn't know that, it's probably best NOT to go into your registry hoping to edit keys.

Well, then how do you edit registry keys? I can't go like this forever...

Just uninstall it. Its useless when you have Opera mail IMO.

To edit the registry, click "Run" on the Start Menu and enter "regedit"

Why are you taking every bit of advice from me as off-topic? >.> Your also a hypocrit, what you posted above was off-topic.

And, I am NOT a liar, don't report me for your own biased opinions!
And I did answer your registry question.

You just told me to get Opera (EXTREMLY OFF-TOPIC). That part that was on topic was edited in after I reported it. If anyone wants proof, PM me your email address and I'll forward you the suscription (which includes the plain text of the reply).

Anyway, I've no idea how it happened, but the problem got fixed. I am going to tell google about it though.

                        EDIT: The proof is below:

OFF TOPIC: Well, something weird happened, and the message got submitted when I was still typing it! I'm sure I'm not the only one it happened to, but my post was probably edited WHILE you were reporting, not after.

And stop trying to get me in trouble for the smallest things. Plus, that was off-topic, too.
And there's no absolute proof unless you actually forward it. Hmph. Anyone can about type a fake email. I'm not saying you did that, however.

okay now as much as I would love to sort out the quarrels you two bros, I don't have the time nor the energy to do so. So unfortunately, I have to be harsh and warn both of you in hope that it will teach you both a lesson and to keep quarrels off the forums.

Other than breaking the flaming rule (eventhough you are brothers it is still flaming here) you both have successfully induced me to having a headache, well done chaps =)

                            .:TOPIC CLOSED:.
