Well, MSNM 6.2 is obsolete now! The official release of MSNM 7.0 is out, which is much better than the beta version! :o

Look here for details: MSN 7.0 officially out! http://messenger.msn.com

Yeah, I installed it. It's really good. The Display Pictures on the side are whacked.

      =)

I don't like the contact list display picture. But it's nice how the handwriting thing no longer needs an MSNM extension to be usable. I use the thing under the display name as an away message; it's very good when combined with Messenger Plus!'s personalized status/auto-replies, and I can't think of another use for it. MSNM is now the best messenger IMO - and by milestones.

Exactly. MSN PLUS! version 3.50 and MSNM 7.0 make a pretty good combination. I don't really maximize my conversations, so the Plus features are hard to selet without the "/" commands. Now, they're at the side of the convo, making it easier to slap people with smelly tuna fish ^^

Well, I have msnm plus 3.50 also, and that makes a real good combination with MSNM 7. :o

The smelly tuna fish has kinda gotten old now... and it smells way too much (the last part was a joke). I know what you meant though, and I agree.
Off topic, but has anyone noticed that the number 3.50 is exactly one half of 7.0? Wierd coincidence, isn't it?

MSN Plus is insecure and attracts spyware ^^

Anyhoo, is this the one that has the ability to present moving screen pics like some peoples avatars on the forums, or have they still not officially released that yet? There isnt a lot of point in having it if no-one else can see your pic move... ._.

Good that its finally released though.

Too right Ravenblade. As soon as I got Plus on my old computer, it went to crap. the whole thing that it. The computer.

MSN 7? woo! I love the message thingo at the top that says what your listening to. Pretty smart if you ask me.

you might as well download 7.0 now, if you don't have it. There's a thing under your username on 7.0 you can change called a personal message. I use it as an "away message" (you'll know what I mean if you have YIM) so people see why I'm away without trying to get my auto-response to ask.

Hopefully it will enable moving pictures. That would seem a bit strange for msn to have though. ^^ But it would be pretty cool. Hopefully this will be better than msn beta, that was a complete failure in my eyes.

MSN has to be optimized for everyone (dial-up users too) so having a gif image that is constantly moving wouldn't be very good for some people, thus, it is not allowed.

I know someone who has a "version" that does allow moving screen pic images but um..heh i get the feeling now that it was one of the ones he found which isnt entirely official ^^;;; I guess they'll get round to releasing it sooner or later though but i assume then that the full 7.0 doesnt have it. Shame but I can see the logic i guess.

Is that what the "dynamic display picture" function's for? I could be wrong, but I'll check it out anyway.

I'm guessing those are what dynamic display pictures are for.

I had the BETA version, but it seems that this final version has several bug fixes and the server works better on it.

It's a charm, I just can't wait for the offline message feature on future builds.

Is there any features that aren't on BETA? Do I have to reinstall it? I know that BETA is working great for me and hopefully more people will now be able to answer my nudges.

It has alot more feature. Well, at least 2, but they are big differences. Too handwrite in BETA, you had to have an extension. It's built-in 7.0, along with a "secondary display name" (that's what I call it, but I use it as an away message, kinda like on YIM).

Now there's an MSNM 7? Wow, I have to keep track of these things...but I might not download it, since I'm afraid it might force me to reboot my computer again. Downloading MSNM 6.2 surprisingly didn't slow down my computer, but I don't want to take another risk like that again...

The installation doesn't require you to reboot, if that's what you were saying.

I believe he means to format his computer. Why would you need to do that anyways? If it screws up your comp just uninstall, check for errors and defrag. Faster that way. Most of the time anyways. Once took me 6 hours to defrag lol.
Apart from that, nice. Msnm 7.0 is a bit hard on the RAM though, especially since I only have 128 mB...
