I'm not Cathlotic, but I watched the old pope's funeral. According to the commentary, many people thought that it would be him.

I'm catholic as well, it's good to hear that a new pope has been elected.
Although, I hope he realizes how much pressure he has for being the new pope after John Paul II. I do hope he continues the way John Paul II was doing, which will be hard. Best of the luck rest upon him

I have heard that this guy back round was german and refused to be in WWII because he didn't follow hitlers ideas. Now this is what I heard in school and I just wanted to know if you guys have heard about this. Now these are rumors so I just want these statements cleared up.

Agatio, people were FORCED into Hitler Youth at a point in WWII. He deserted it at his first chance, I think. That's probably what happened; why would a real Nazi be a close friend to John Paul II (who was against discrimination against Jews) anyway?

In that link (with the pic) it shows how much China hates Taiwan, and it's odd. China will help the Vatican if the Catholics will see China as the sole representative of the Peoples Republic of China... Taiwan, that's were an aunt of mine is from.
