Can anyone teach me how to do proper BBCode? Is it all just simple like [b] or complex like HTML?

      It's not hard at all:

      [ b ]Bold[ /b ]
      [ i ]Italics[ /i ]
      [ u ]Underline[ /u ]
      [ img ]http://imageurl[ /img ]
      [ url=http://urltosite ]Link to external site[ /url ]
[ quote=username ]Quote another person's post[ /quote ] (phpBB requires you to put quotations "" around username)

Those are the more commonly used ones.

When typing a post (not a quick reply) you should see a link under the emoticons (smilies) called "BB Code Help". If you click on that you will be taken to a listing of all available BB codes.

I don't like BBCode. Typing <b> is much easier than typing [b]

Actually <b> requires holding shift, then taking it off, then pressing it again for the ">". [ b] just requires pressing the 3 characters as is, so thats easier.

meh, <B> is even easier. Hold shift, and it all happens.

While Im here, does it matter if you say <CENTRE> or <CENTER>?

It's spelt different here in OZ than in the US. I think. Or am I making thinks up unknowingly again?

I prefer HTML to BB. It even sounds better... :P

There's no Australian version of HTML.
So it's always "center" and "color" (lower case you fool! j/k)

... you don't need lower cased dude. But you know that :P

And thanks for answering my question . But, I look so stupid now.

Quick brain, think of something funny to make up for it.
                  "Make me..."
Alright brain, you don't like me and I don't like you. But lets just do this so I can get back to killing you with beer.

                  </simpsons quote>

                  See? HTML is good.

For XHTML 1.1 Strict lower case for all tags is required :P .
Plus, it's just how you're supposed to do it. Ask Andross or Max and they will tell you the same thing.

                      yeah? <b> not <B>?

Wow, what an eye opener. I didn't know HTMLing was such an... art

I just use it to make things look pretty. Which is in fact a definition of art :P

I see your point now. Kind of.

It's just cause the W3C are a bunch of manipulative b4stards *shakes fist in fury*
They want everyone to code the same way, i.e
everyone use CSS divs, everyone nest properly, everyone code in lower case, etc. etc. etc. Some of it's fine, others are just silly.

*strait over the top of my head*

That was directed at me right?

Anyway, once you start talking anything more than semi-basic HTML coding, I go to water. Don't bother :P

                          everyone nest properly? WTF?
