I forgot what other RPGs there are out there, so I can only remember these.

Golden Sun or Final Fantasy. They both tend to have the same battle system (except Final Fantasy Tactics Advance), and they both have good storylines, yet I would have to go with FF. Golden Sun behind by 1 point. Forgive me!

Sigh, yes I too must agree with you, FF has more games and has been around much longer then GS, plus when ya play FF1 it's still very fun. I am sorry goldensun. =(

Ya know what I find weird:

1. 2 people have posted yet there are 4 votes for FF.
2. This IS a GS board yet Final Fantasy is winning.

Golden Sun IS good, yet I find FF....well....I don't quite know.....

I prefer GS, as I haven;t played much FF.

The .Hack Series. I've never played any of the FF-games. Golden Sun comes in second and Pokémon in third.

I'm at a loss between choosing NeverWinter Nights or GS... NeverWinter (Other) is more intriguing but GS is just alot of fun to play.

I've played Morrowind. That game is good, but I always get lost and, well, die.

KOTOR wastes everything this side of the sun, and I think it...well, it just plain pwns.

GS is good and all, yes, same with FF (of which I've only played the I&II remake and Tactics), but they just don't have much replay value.

Wizardry 8 (of which I bet no one has heard of) is good, but incredibly hard. And old.

Overall, I think KoToR wins my vote. KoToR I and II were like, the best RPGs I've played, and I think they have more replay value because you can be good, evil or neutral (which is no fun).

In no other game can you hit children in the groin with a sledgehammer after playing for about 30 mins. Or get married to a member of the same sex, then go to an abandoned milatary base, put them in the organ-extraction room and take their brain. And then trade that brain for some cash to feed your current addiction to drugs.

And thats just the optional stuff... =p

People do play weird games, like Polarium so.....I guess that would count. Weird RPG.

Its a CRPG (Computer RPG) so it will differ the console ones. Battles are more tactical and the levelling system is different in CRPGs, as most CRPGs are based more or less on the D&D rules (or some variance on them)

The whole game isn't like that, those are just a few of the things you can do if so you feel inclined. Some kids steal items off you, so you are free to enter combat mode and then give 'em a smack in the face. Kill them however, and you're marked as a Childkiller. Most people will hate you, and you get Bounty Hunters after you, and trust me are they farking HARD.

Its a good game though, its so open-ended you can start a new game and go directly to the last town (Providing you live the trek across the world map and random encounters), grab the best gear, and head off to the last area and beat the game in under half an hour... or go back to the start and breeze through the game with your Advanced Power Armour and Turbo Plasma Rifle =p

CD-ROM, non-multiplayer.

I'm not sure how the game would work in a multiplayer way... although sneaking up on other players and stealing their gear would be nice.

Even though Final Fantasy isn't the best game i've ever played, it is on my list of Favorites ( probably my 3rd favorite series.)

Yes, it is quite repatative. The only really different storyline is Pokemon Colosseum.

Although are 2 GS games, they are quite good. (GS2 can be good most of the time. Not as good as the 1st though.)

Its actualy rather old, so have fun looking for it. Try bargain bins and second hand places, and failing that, maybe eBay or something like it.

They've already done a re-make of Yellow, so i don't think Crystal is too far away, seeing as how they want to milk the damm series as much as they possibly can...

Just after voting for ff I suddenly thought about the mario rpgs. Paper Mario 2 and Superstar saga were great! I really hope there will be a superstar saga sequel.
