    OK!!!

I need this for my photography project. I'm looking for as many opinions as possible.

IF YOU ARE SCARED OF SPIDERS, DON'T EVEN DARE TO LOOK AT THE FOLLOWING LINK.

    I have this picture: http://www.deviantar...ation/16321921/

I need you to tell me if you would classify that shot as minimalism.

(For those of you who don't know what minimalism is:

    # A school of abstract painting and sculpture that emphasizes extreme simplification of form, as by the use of basic shapes and monochromatic palettes of primary colors, objectivity, and anonymity of style. Also called ABC art, minimal art, reductivism, rejective art.

    # Use of the fewest and barest essentials or elements, as in the arts, literature, or design.)

Just answer the question. yes no maybe sort of?

Well, I forget my photography lessons, but (I think) that it would sort of be minimalism.

The background is simple, which is good. The spider web sort of adds a more complicated look to the center of the picture, and I don't know if that effects it or not, but that's just my opinion.

        Maybe. I have no clue.

Good pic though. Don't know what to say.

First off isn't this cheating? I'll wont tell if you wont.

The picture shows man complicating the normal things in life. You know that sounded smart. <<

Not really minimalism, as it isn't necessarily a solid, basic shape. Minimalism would be something like a basic object on a blank background (think apple on a white bg with soft shadow).

That has a good deal of texture with a lot of line and pattern in it, and nonuniform at that. Sorry, I think you're out of luck :/

            FIND AN APPLE! lol :P

If it was just the spider on a wall then yes, but the wall kinda dips in, and there's the web also, so I don't think it's minimalism.

@Echo::P <_< I'm making a book full of minimalism photography that will be evaluated by a minimum of 20 people e.e;;; So, I need to know if that is indeed minimalism or not. I'm not so mediocre as to poke some group of blokes in the internet to get the answers to a, b, and c.

@Andross and Agatio: Thanks <3 That's the kind of comment I need to hear but everyone seems too scared to admit it.

@The rest: Thanks for the input up to now. <3

                  Nope, that's not minimalism.

It's true that it shows a small thing, but to make it minimalism you should have had the camera very close to the net.

                    ?

Minimalism would have been the spideralone on the wall. Plenty of wall with the spider shown off to one side.

"A style of art in which the least possible amount of form shapes, colors, or lines are used to reduce the concept or idea to its simplest form"

Zooming in would have removed the minimalism effect, and turned it into a close up shot.
