How much on an old-skool gamer are you?

First thing i can remember playing was an old Amiga. It was awesome. Lemmings was addicting fun, Cannon Fodder was plain awesome, Killing Game Show was frustratingly good, and then there was those text adventure games. Man, those were the times...

What was your first systemt then?

I first remember playing SNES (Super Metroid) and Mario Paint when I was 7 or 8. I ended up buying all older generation systems (NES, Atari 2600, Game Gear, etc) to play them and they all kick ass.

NES, my older siblings had it. I think the first game I played was Super mario bros. or the first Zelda. But I loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and this game where you control the main character with the Gun instead of the controller(you made him jump by shooting him). I don't remember it's name though.

Nintendo 64 was my first. I think the game was either super smash bros or Pokémon Stadium. Yeah, I started late. I could have got a SNES, but I had no idea it existed.

Yeah. But they're not all mine ... my seventeen year old brother owns most of them. Probably because he can afford them an' I can't. I sold my PS1, and the dreamcast recently, though. So I guess I should shut my mouth.

I lost my gaming to virginity to one of THE first consoles, the Mattel Intellivision. (Then came along the Atari 2600 and the NES, followed by a GB and Genesis, then a loooooong hiatus without any new systems, then a GBC, followed by another long hiatus and wrapping it up with a PS2, GBA, and GCN.)

I don't even remember what it was called. It had these big controllers with a whole bunch of buttons and numbers and stuff. I used to play that Q-Bert game all the time.

Then there was the NES (which I still have, but it doesn't work :D ) that I used to play Zelda on when I was like 7. Then there was the crappy gameboy with lines on the screen (so hard to play, but I still loved it), then the Super NES (hours playin Illusion of Gaia!).

Then my Game Boy colour, my first system that wasn't a hand me down, then there was the N64 that my mom bought for both of us, then there was the GBA (it was fushia, not pink!) that I enjoyed, then the Gamecube that my mom also got for both of us. Then she got me a GBA SP that I didn't even ask for (shiny silver!) and then I got an X-Box for my birthday (cost me 100 bucks to make it a fair present) and then the DS that I didn't ask for or want (don't want either PSP or DS) but I got anyways, and now here we are.

That's basically my whole life of video games in two paragraphs.

I still have all those systems except the very old one that I can't remember the name of, that wasn't mine.

I played NES all the time when I was younger. But that was when I wasnt much of a gamer. Then I skipped to an N64, but played an SNES after that.

The first three systems we had here were the Atari, the NES and another one that we called "The Chinese Nintendo". (You see, in spanish, people don't bother to say "console" they just say nintendo. "Hey, do you have a nintendo?" "Yeah, I have a PS2." That's how it is.)

So, my first system was "The Chinese Nintendo" :O And then I moved on to the SNES.

Now for example, graphics are needed when you have to build an atmosphere, like it would really add to the whole creepy effect of an area if the blood-spattered zombie walking towards you actualy looks like a blood-spattered zombie, and not some cheaply rendered polygon mess.

Some games need it, some don't.
