This is a small announcement, however important.

Forum Rules have been updated with one more rule:

    4. Trolling (inciting flames) is not permitted. Posts intended solely to annoy and/or offend other posters by going against the clear nature of a board or topic are not allowed. This includes: Provoking other users to respond with flames, asking obviously useless questions and posting false information as fact.

Please observe this as it will be dealt with severely.

Below are the current rules. Please read over them again.

Welcome to the GSS Forums, I hope you enjoy yourself. As a member of these forums, you agree to abide by these rules:

    The Golden Rules

    1. There will be no excessive use of profanity.
    2. There will be no racial, ethnic, gender based insults or any other personal discriminations.
    3. There will be no posts meant to offend or hurt any other member, in a manner which is offensive or inflammatory.
    4. Trolling (inciting flames) is not permitted. Posts intended solely to annoy and/or offend other posters by going against the clear nature of a board or topic are not allowed. This includes: Provoking other users to respond with flames, asking obviously useless questions and posting false information as fact.
    5. Spamming is not permitted; please keep all your posts as constructive as possible.
    6. Unnecessary bumping of topics is considered spam; please do not unnecessarily bump topics.
    7. Asking for members for your site/forums is considered spam; please do not use our site to advertise yours without prior approval from a member of Management.
    8. Pornography, warez, or any other illegal transactions may NOT be linked in any shape or form.
    9. All posts are property of the poster. This forum and all web sites owned in conjunction with this forum have the right to request alteration or deletion of any offensive post.
    10. Posts may be deleted and/or edited for any reasons the forum administrators deem reasonable.
    11. Users may not argue a moderator's decision publicly. Any and all complaints directed at a moderator must first address the moderator in question via PM. If the problem can not be resolved, then the moderator and user must send their positions to the forum admin. The forum admin will make or change any and/or all final decisions.
    12. Pictures may be posted as long as they are not explicit or offensive. If you plan to post more than one image, or the topic is based on graphics, please link the images rather than screening.
    13. Signatures may contain images, but may not be any larger than 300x100; 468x60 banners are also permitted (within reason). If your signature is larger than the allotted size given or deemed unacceptable by staff, you will be requested by a moderator to resize or change your image. Please also try and keep text signatures under 5 lines. Failing to comply with a moderator's request to fix your signature will result in the removal of your signature.
    14. Please try to keep images in your profile to a minimum file size to accomodate for dialup members. We want everyone here to have an enjoyable experience, and images that have excessive file sizes cause undue problems for those without broadband.
    15. Please keep foul language to a minimum, any excessive un-called for language will be removed and you will receive a final warning.
    16. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other topics and see where your topic should go. If your topic is placed in the wrong forum, it will be moved by a moderator.
    17. If a topic is recognized as being posted in the wrong forum, or if the post is a violation of our guidelines then please contact a moderator either via PM or the 'report post to moderator' feature; please do not respond publicly to the member - a member of staff will do what is required upon contact.
    18. Any person/s who attempt to present themselves as a Moderator by posting negatively to a member's topic (which has been posted in error and requires locking or moving to another forum) will be sent a PM warning and placed into moderation queue upon further actions.
    19. Any impersonation of a user from these forums, in any mode of communication, is strictly prohibited and will result in a banning.
    20. Linked and locked topics are pruned regularly to reduce page clutter. If you have a question about where your topic went, please PM a Moderator or Administrator before starting a new topic asking where it went, or posting a duplicate of the original topic. We will be happy to provide you with a link to the new location, or a reason why it was locked and/or removed.

Any violation of these rules will result in consequences determined on a case-by-case basis. Violations will either result in a ban or warning. Upon the recieving of a third warning, a user will be banned for a period of time determined by the administration.

    General Guidelines:
    1. Do not post new threads or replies containing:
    - Subjects that have been posted numerous times. Please use the search tool to look for older topics.
    - Abuse (or "flames") aimed at other users as stated in the rules above.
-Trolling; Don't post against the topic flow or incite flames.
    - Replying to a topic which has no relevance to the original topic of discussion.
    - Please do not use swearing off of these forums. We are trying to build a friendly community aimed at users of all ages, and swearing can be offensive to younger users.
    2. Do not spam. We do not allow (except in spam forum):
    - Overuse of emoticons.
    - ALL CAPS.
    - Giant fonts or needless formatting.
    - Replies totally irrelevant to the original topic.
    - Replies with less than 5 words.

These guidelines should be followed by everyone, although a violation of these guidlines may not necessarily warrant a punishment of the user.

        Anyway, good move.

It is pointed at no one directly. It just needed to be said. Trolling, in my opinion, is the worse offense on a forum.

It's like a bully around school constantly calling you names.

Yeah, Trolling is the worst form of any member. A trolling member is like, a bully, but incredibly, well, stupid. They have no repect, and you know the rest.

I see the rules are already in effect (I'm no longer a moderator), I guess it's for the better though, and I can understand why they were suggested (me) and why they were put in place.

They can actually be very easy to follow, that is, if you take time to get used to it. And they are pretty good. most forums just say "Don't double post, don't spam, have at it."

Cause they have people ages anywhere between 6 and 66 on there, and people from every race culture etc, so obviously the rules have to be very harsh to keep out teh trash.

Actually, they usebase is similar to ours. They have more older members, but the majority of members are between 12-17 (with a 13 year old minimum).

True, for some of them. Religious boards are the most mature, ever one is open to whatever you have to say. Gaming, it's half-n-half. Other boards, meh, boring.

I'm sure there are religious boards with immature members, and gaming boards with mature members, it's pretty stereotypical to generalise a gaming board as immature and religious boards as mature.

Shouldn't there have been a mention of my partial de-modding? It is something worth noting as now the forums are a lot less moderated, at least 'til GL is on holidays.

I want to see an end to "Whom do you like better." "Which one is better" posts. They are always old news.

I don't know why Agatio got partially demodded, but I think he was good mod, I believe that there isn't an as active member here as him I thinks.

It was a few jerk posts I made. I swear if I was given warning I would have made amends, but I just got demoded without warning.

Doubt it, I said I'll either be a full moderator or nothing. Max is considering a new mod to take my place. No big deal, but it would have nice to get some kind or warning/
