My orthodontist thinks I need them, but my dentist says my teeth are fine, so I really have no idea. If I am going to get braces, It'll probably be jsut until my teeth are placed almost perfectly the way their supposed to be.

I still have mine, but they are gonna be off in a few months ( maybe 3 ) I had em for 3 years, and sometimes ( depending on what I eat) they hurt like hell.

Got 'em off about 4 months ago. They suck because food gets stuck in 'em very easily and whenever they tighten 'em . . . ugh.

nope; never had 'em. although many of the people I know have had them at some point or another. I was born with "my mother's teeth and my father's jaw". in other words, my teeth are big and my jaw is small. luckily, I got away with just a retainer when I was little, and my twelve-year molars where removed to make room for my wisdom teeth (which was MUCH easier than having to deal with the wisdom teeth after they came in).

anyway, I think my teeth are pretty much safe now.

Stick with what your dentist says! He probatly knows much more about teeth that your orthodontist does. Orthodontists only want your money, I can tell you.

My teeth have always been straight and lined up correctly and that's the way they will always stay. Though braces maybe annoying I could barely tell when someone is wearing them even when they speak towards me. I just don't notice them.

No, I never had them, but everyone (including me) thinks I should. When I was little, and I mean 3 years old, my two front teeth were removed (they hurt <.<). I took about 3 years for them to grow in, but they didn't grow in right. One of my front tooth sticks out about a centimeter from my other teeth, and my second front tooth is kind of dug in, but not as great as the first one.

EDIT: Well, not really a centimeter. More like 2 millimeters. I was too lazy to measure it with a ruler.

I've never had them. My dentists always comment on how perfectly strait my teeth are every time I go for a check up.

*sigh* I've had bottom braces for a year and a month and top for five months. My bottom ones should be coming off sometime soon (I hope) but the top is a problem. Every normal person has four very front teeth, two big ones and a small one on either side. I'm missing the smaller ones so my big ones have moved apart, creating a gap. I have a piece of gum that has grown down too far and has to be removed. Then, I'll get two false teeth :D

If my teeth were really bad, I'd go for expensive surgery, or false teeth. When you first get false teeth, they are alot whiter than your other teeth.

Can't remember if I said it but I don't have braces, my teeth are perfect IMO.

Braces aren't really bad IMO also, because usually people who have braces usually have the better teeth in the long run.

I've never had braces. I don't think I really need them. My teeth are not perfect, only very minor separation between my upper front teeth. And i agree with eugine, people who use braces have better teeth in the long run.

I humbly thank you. Of course, I'd love to, it's just that i'm friggin juggling between online high school courses, regular high school homework, AND eventual weekend work. Once I'm out of school I'll be able to relax a bit and be more active.
Anyways, going back to the braces thing. I saw an old friend of mine yesterday at a party. Last time I'd seen her she still had braces, and now that she's gotten rid of'em she looks quite nice.

I've worn braces before, twice in fact. The first time was during the end of elementary school into middle school, but my teeth relapsed (i.e. went back to the way they were before), and I had them again for a year and a half in high school. I wear removable retainers now - for the first two years, I have to wear them every day of the week, but each year after that I can wear them less and less (not to mention they're invisible, so it's not a problem).

I was the only one in my class to have them I guess because it was kind of early to get them. Had them for two years and got them off sometime in grade 7. My bottom teeth are kind of crooked because my wisdom teeth have now grown in and are forcing the others to the front. I pretty much need them again
