Plus, most iPods only last... what? One and a half years max? They mess up really easily. I myself have a mini (didn't ask for it though) and there's always some problem or the other x.x It wont transfer all the songs to the iPod or, I have to restart the iPod continously, it will pause by itself without me doing anything to it, etc.

As for a hard drive mp3 player, don't go with iPod. As the others said, it has plenty of problems, especially seeing as how it's optimized to be used with Mac. All the new hard drive mp3 players, such as creative Zen Touch, are better.

Reviews pointed out that is has much better quality than the Ipod and can hold more music on it. Read up some information here.

But I agree with how buggy it is; there seems to be bugs with my own iPod (it was a gift - I would've bought a Creative otherwise), as when I go to play an album, the iPod decides to skip through all the songs, and not play anything. Wha?!?! Quite annoying.

And once again:
Don't get an iPod or iPod mini. Get a Creative Zen Micro or Zen Touch.

If I had to get a MP3 player I would of go with the Sony.

The PSP should have a price cut by christmas ( possibly), and it isn't good to buy it for only MP3's, but its for those that want music and other stuff.

Also, I want a hard drive mp3 player, not a flash one. They don't hold enough for me ^_^.

Well, depends how much music you want to put. I have a Sony NW-E407, and I love it. I've got 611 songs on it and I still got 175 mB left. Of course it's all in atrac3plus 48 kbs. That's one of the advantages of Sony stuff : atrac3plus, it's possibly one of the best audio formats ever. Just gotta watch which product you buy. Love mine though. Sonicstage is somewhat annoying but usable.
[EDIT]: forgot to say, it's the 1 gig model.

Those look pretty cool ( I prefer that to the other types), and there not too expensive.

Not too expensive? Bull! They're selling a 3GB for $200, when I can get a regular 5GB mini/micro, or even a 20GB Creative for that much. Plus, the iPod is already easy enough to slip right in your pocket, as well as most any other MP3 players. Plus, the smaller something is, the easier it'll get lost.

I would rather take the creative any day, but I like it more compared to the other Ipods. I still think he should get something else, instead of an Ipod.

I have an Egoman 512 MB. The shiny silver one.
Might I say, it works a treat ;]
They also have a large range of other mp3 players from 128 MB to 30 GB (iAudio 'X5').
I'm not quite sure of the prices, let me look some up.
Ze' Edit;
Couldn't be bothered finding them. Harvey Norman and such places probably have them.
My appologies but they may be Australian Exclusive.
