Someone called today and said I was recommended for acting... I don't know who recommended me, but the person said I and my Mom were to go to parsippany I think it was to see a person who would interview me and my mom, see what kind of acting talent I have. I don't know who did this, but I sure as hell hope I don't screw up.

o.o Sounds like a prank call... And "someone recommended me" sounds fake coming form the person talking to you in the phone.

I have an idea. Why don't you call them back and find out if it was real or not. Ask for their info, address, where this interview will be taken, etc. If they wont disclose that to you or they give you a fake address then it's probably fake.

It perhaps is a prank call, but as Mars Djinni said, there is always the possibility of it being completley valid... did the caller give mention of himself? Did he or she provide you with any manner in which to contact them back? And also, have you considered asking your mother if she is aware of this?

The caller had to have put a mention of himself and his company or the company he works with, search on the internet for this, or search in your phone book. It's also highly unlikely that he wanted both your mother and you, sounds odd.

Usually with things like this they mail you with all the info in case you forget things. As I posted a thread in the Common Room, I was reccomended for a trip to Britian to do progidy stuff (O.o), and was mailed with all the info, including the program name and the boss of the whole deal.
So their's a chance of it being valid. Like Izar said, they'd have to give a name of the program. If not, it's likely to be a fraud.
