However I have heard that Soul Calibur 2 is meant to be quite good. I don't speak from experience though I've only seen reviews.

My favorite characters were: Kilik, Taka, and Mitsurugi.
I'm not a big fan of fighting games to begin with (aside from SSB64, which barely counts in the traditional sense), so I knew I wouldn't drool over it.
The character creation in SCIII is enough to cause me to pick it up when it comes out, though.
