As you may or may not have noticed, we had some downtime tonight so that we could upgrade the forum software. There are still some minor issues with the skins, but for the most part everything should be working. One of the most noticeable improvements is the new visual editor on the post page. If you do not like it, it can be turned off from your "My Controls" page. Also of note is the new inline edit post ability, which allows you to edit one of your posts without having to reload the page. Many other improvements are invisible to you all, but are very nice for the moderators and admins, and will certainly improve our efficiency.

If you find anything wrong -- broken images, non-working links/pages, etc. -- please post it here and/or PM me so I can fix it.

NOTE: When you first to the forums after the upgrade, all topics and forums will appear to have new posts, which may not be the case. Simply click "Mark all posts as read" at the bottom of the front page to clear that status.

Don't preach what you don't know. It's a lot easier than you think. Assuming the process hasn't been changed much with this new version, all Max had to do was upload the required files and run the upgrade process (which takes maybe 10 minutes). Skin issues aside of course.

Upgrading the software is very easy indeed, but there were some issues upgrading the skins that took almost an hour to resolve. Nothing too hard, just some exploration and research to find out what has changed in the skins since the last version.

EDIT: I found some errors in my skin. Three that I found were the new options dropdown menu has no background, the title of topic on topic page are black when they should be blue, and there isn't any background image for the new post editor.

What skin are you using? I'm too lazy to check in ACP. Can you also give a screenshot as I don't get the errors you're describing (although I am using Opera 8.02).

Is it just me or is there an error with the polls? When I view the GS3 topic, it has a list of errors up the top and the poll doesn't display properly :\.

Weird, the GS3 topic has the errors yes, but for some reason that's the only topic with it.

The only real flaw I can see in 2.1 is the lack of validity in their code. With all the time they spent on new and awesome features, you would think they could take the time and effort to make an xhtml valid bulliten board system.
