Just curious to see how many people own their own PC, and how many share one with their family.

I have been the owner of my own PC since early January this year. It is so much better than sharing, because you have total control over the files, programs, games, and you never have to worry about parents going through it, or siblings deleting stuff.

I own this computer... owned since probably last summer, if I had to guess. Waaaay better than sharing. No one can touch my settings, finally.

I share, but probably by next summer or next christmas, not this upcoming christmas, I might get one.

I think you should change it to "Who has their own computer" because for me, its kind of both. I share a PC with my Brother (Its the main PC in the house, but my Mum and Dad both have laptops, so they don't use it) but I only use it for playing games etc.

I have my own Laptop in my room which I am on usually, for MSN, Paintshop Pro etc, but its not powerful enough to play games.

Share, it's fine, i get whatever i want. I helped clear about 4gb of space since we had about 40mb out of 15gb left so my parents actually let me have games now.

I'm told if i pay for it i can have one in my room, but no internet. Maybe when i get a job.....

I share put I wouldn't mind getting my own one though. I'd really like one in my room but it has so much junk in there and I've got nowhere to put it.
I don't mind sharing though.

I sort of have both. Since I just moved I couldnt get my computer set up so I use the family.

But these days I just use the internet from my psp.

I got my own. it used to be that my brother and I shared dad's old computer when he was done with it, but a little over a year or so ago, my brother bought his on, so now I alone get dad's old comp every time he decides he wants a new one (which isn't nearly often enough). So I have my own computer, it's just that it's really (really) obsolete.

Until I get a job, I'm sharing this computer. But that's what passwords are for. It might be for the best, though, at least for now. I probably wouldn't sleep if I had a computer in my room.

Yeah, me neither, but if I do get one, I'll have to plug it to our modem upstairs and computer's without internet is like peanut butter without jelly! (bad analogy, sorry)

I used to share until January 2004 (when I got my laptop). It's much more simpler to have a laptop when you live in two houses (divorced parents.)

We never really had trouble with sharing anyway. You could get whatever you wanted into the computer and no one would care. No one would go through anyone else's files and delete stuff, etc. I was too scared to touch my sister's stuff and she didn't even care about mine :D

Yup I share it to. Sucks very much because my mother mostly kicks me of and then I got nothing to do.

In my school when you get to Year 12 (sorry but I don't know what grade that would be in America) they give you a laptop to use. My sister had one when she was there and she used it a lot. I can't wait but it is still two years away. :P

I have a computer in my room but with no Internet. I share my computer with the rest of my family which is ok. Not like I have anything to hide from them.
