Alright, so I was talking to this kid I know who was born in korea, or some place in Asia, and he told me that back home, kids are playing gba games on their psp's. i would figure that u would need some kinda emulator or something to play those, and I didn't think that the psp had enough capacity to run an emulator. Atleast so I would figure.

Though if that isn't the case then I would hope to know how I could get my hands on this kinda junk. And if this basic thread already exists, I would hope that someone points me toward where the thread is located so I can continue to persue it. :P

That sounds really awesome, GBA graphics suck, and PSPs will make it a little beter. And you can have it on a widescreen. BUt I have never heard of this. They have it probably because they are near to Japan.

but the only way to play gba games that way would b through roms, and I would figure that they would need to get roms from online. So if someone could find these roms that are able to be run on a psp, I'de say all the better. Unless there's some other way.

          Uh, no.

You're EMULATING the GBA on a PSP. Anyways, I have SNES/GBA/N64/NES on my PSP so it's possible; just Google for it.

Make sure you set the speed to 333Mhz or else the game plays at half the speed. Adjust the frame skip and internal settings and enjoy.

Emulating is when you play games like Snes games on the computer

And this is soooooooooo old. Like Nick said, I have most of these on my psp, as well
(although its hard to get roms).

It depends on the game you get.

No, using Emulators to play GBA/SNES/N64/ETC ROMS on your computer/PSP/DS are illegal.

I read on wiki that it depends on how old the game was. I guess
                      I read wrong.

While certain copyrights only appear to last x amount of years, any and all games that you would play still belong to the company and are under copyright.

Andross knows a lot about this and I'm sure he'll post something extrememly long.

When it comes to copyrights on games, it's the same as anything else - I think, under federal copyright laws in the US, the copyright is valid for 80 years. It is illegal, thus, to pirate the material, ie, emulate, regardless of the age of the game. It's the same reason the RIAA ***** and moan - you're technically "stealing." Oh, and the 24 hour rule is BS folks. I still have no idea where people got such an idea from...

Of course, unlike the RIAA, most developers couldn't care less about pirating because they know they can't really stop people. Especially when it comes to decades old games. Although, it is actually pretty challenging to get decent pirated games due to their size and the new activation key tricks being used.

GoldenDjinn: And exactly what would I be assumed to be arguing about in this matter? STUFF IT IN A SOCK! :D

Alright, now that we have come to grips with that, I would only ask how a psp runs the emulators? It may b easy for nick, but it all seems new to the technologicaly chalenged such as myself. Is it about the right file that u put it in on the memory stick?....................................I'll google for it.

....alright, I just got back, and I found that only a psp system with the 1.5 update can support the gba games and that 2.0 hasn't been cracked yet......I already upgraided to 2.0, how do u downgrade, or so to speak?

I can pm you a site that gives you clearer directions on how to downgrade. The whole root

I still have my homebrews. I'm still trying to break a world record for Super Metroid on a handheld.

So far, I'm down to like 1:12. 0:36 minutes is still a long way to go.

                                          I just downgraded from 2.0

Enoch: To downgrade you need the Mph Downgrader and the Eboot and the first_psp3 files

I can pm you a site that gives you clearer directions on how to downgrade. The whole root
of the memory stick confused me.

Thanks my man! I'de appreciate that.

Me & Nick have known about that crap for a while. I don't know if he still has his homebrew but I do and I'm still enjoying Super Mario on my PSP.

and as for anubis, how about next time you actualy shed some light on the subject, as apposed to only saying "me and nick already knew that", because it makes you sound like a narcissist. :P
