Nostradamus Really?

Born in the early 16th century, Nostradamus became one of the world's most widely known prophets. Nostradamus personally believed he was given prophecies through God.
I don't think he could see through the future. He was on something, seriously. He locked himself in some tower and went through strange "ritualistic" things. I personally think that they are not prophecies, but maybe morals or poem-like sentences. If someone can use Nostradamus's prophecies to predict the future from NOW, then I may believe they can be real. If they can be used to predict thousands of deaths, then do it.

I am not willing to explain why or how cause it WILL sound like _I_ am on something :P.
As for those Nostradamus had, I really wouldn't know. I've only heard rumours of what he said, not concrete facts. *goes research*

He may well have been a nut but then so was Einstein. Just cos they seem crazy, doesnt mean they're wrong. Prophecy is very real, that much im convinced of. I dont see why its so outrageous to assume that Nostradamus was a prophet then.
He may seem like one of those crazy religious fanatics you get in horror stories and the like but you have to admit - if there is a God, its not like we know for a fact he doesnt work through people like that...
I dont suppose anyone will ever know though.

I really don't know about Nostradamus. I really can't since I don't have any solid information on him.

anyway, even if prophecies were real, what would be the point? no one can ever understand them until after it happens. all you're really doing is waiting until something big happens, then saying "I told you so!"

Some say he did, but it's hard to tell, he spoke using rethoric, limeric, riddles and all sorts of other devices to make him hard to understand. Interpretation is all that lends credence to his predictions. If he had said "Hey some dude named Hitler is going to try and take over the world" then I would believe him. Plus, he was predicting stuff that would happen waaaaaaaaay after his death so he was free from retribution. Oh and the world didn't end in 1997 like he said it would. :P

(It was on wiki, so im going to assume that the words weren't changed)
Come the millennium, month 12
In the home of greatest power,
The village idiot will come forth
To be acclaimed the leader.
And they said it was refering to George Bush.
