The best weapons i know is Sol Blade and Tisiphone Edge which both do 700+ damge when you use it's special attack. Can someone tell me where the other good weapons.

The next best IMO from my memory (haven't played GS1/2 in like a year) is the Dark Sword and the excaliber. You get excaliber by forging a um.. Orihalcon (SP?) and I forgot where you get the Dark Sword :lol:

The Darksword is forged from Dark Matter which you can get from Wonder Birds. Lachesis' Rule is a good weapon too, the best staff there is. You get it from Mad Demons.

I'm more a fan of the Atropos' rod, I like the giant scissors, soul-draining thingy. I'm pretty sure it's found in Yampi desert cave. There's probably an rng for it somewhere.

I don't really use the Darksword since my characters usually have Sol Blade/Excaliber/Tisiphone Edges and um... some other stuff I forgot.

The darksword has several practical advantages though. It can be equipped by Felix, Issac, Piers, and Garet, and there's only one sol blade; you can make as many darkswords as you want, and the deadly poison is pretty accurate and is a big help in 2player matches.

And how can you say that the Lachesis' rule is cooler, some lady comes out and slaps them, that's way more lame than the gigantic scissors thing.

Keep on trying, that's what. The Darksword is extremely, EXTREMELY hard to get from Dark Matter. Good luck getting it!

it's probalbly just chance but I had an easiar time getting Darksword then getting Excalibur...
Excalibur took me like 3 days of reseting to get and I got 2 darkswords in forging 6 Dark matters...

I think I'm just a lucky ******* n.n

The Dark Sword does give the most attack but the unleash sucks.

Both FireCracker and Shadow Adept are right in my opinion.

The Sol Blade gives the most attack besides the Dark Blade.

Tisiphone Edge (my personal favorite) has the best rate of attack since it has three versions of its unleash (weak, medium, and max. )


Excaliber and Dark Sword have the same % of getting. Excaliber is similiar to Tisiphone Edge since it has two versions of its unleash. Dark Sword is good if you like cursed items and have some pretty bad luck with unleashing a weapons critical attack.



Does anyone know why they have Masamune in such a hard spot (if you didn't transfer data which I didn't (so sad am I) ). Its nothing compared to Sol Blade, Tisiphone Edge, and Excaliber. The only cool part about it is that it has a nice unleash attack ( Rising Dragon).

It depends on who you have it on for damage really and who you are fighting. For me I tend to use the Golden Sun 1 party more for some reason and my Issac can get over 1200 damage with the Tisiphone Edge, and for Excaliber is near 1100 or 1200. Either way they are powerful. For some reason the Sol Blade never seems to get above 1100 even when its equiped with my best guy (Issac).

That is actually not true. Excalibur has a 5% chance, while Darksword has a 10%.

Here are the best weapons in my opinion, and the rating from best to worst:

2. Excalibur

Here's my reasoning: Sol Blade is the greatest, enough said. Excalibur has a good attack, and it's unleash, Legend, is the second best in the game behind Meggido. Tisiphone Edge had a pretty impressive unleash, and it's the best light blade in the game. The Darksword has the highest attack power, but its unleash sucks IMO (poison isn't that good). Lachesis' Rule...well, it's the best staff in the game and its unleash can inflict Curse upon the target.

That's all I have to say.

No one has bothered to add that the Darksword is cursed and it'll inflict damage on whoever has it. I will not be able to get Lachesis' Rule since I didn't transfer data at the right time (which sucks beyond anything for me) so I wouldn't know how good it is compared to the other weapons.

Actually, you probably should have known that the Darksword was cursed. After all, it comes from Dark Matter, which is the only forgeable item that only creates cursed things.

If you don't mind taking around 50 damage every turn (I think) then the Darksword can be useful.




Easy way to get the Tisiphone Edge (might have been brought up). When fighting a Wonder Bird use a Water Dijinn and kill the Wonder Bird with it, but there must be another monster that is killed a on the first attack. You'll get about 11500 exp and you should get a Tisiphone Edge.

Sol Blade -Att+200 Unleashes Meggido
Excalibur -Att+180 Unleashes Legend
Tsiphone Edge -Att+178 Unleases Vengence
Dark Sword -Att+210 Unleashes Acheron's Grief
Lachesis' Rule -Att+177 Unleashes Apocalypse

(yes, I agree with gsninja, but I thought this out prior to reading his comment)

Sol Blade is the most rounded weapon of the bunch. It has the most accurate Unleash in the game, the second most powerful unleash in the game, and the second highest attack parameter increase. I usually deal 950+ damage when it is equiped to lv54 Felix.

Excalibur has a lower attack parameter increase than Sol Blade, but a more poweful Unleash when it's at full power (it can hit either once or thrice). When it hits at full power, I usually deal 1000+ damage when it is equiped to lv54 Isaac (aprox. same attack score as Felix).

Darksword has the highest attack parameter increase in the game, but it's unleash is simply the same power as Gaia Blade's Titan Blade, with an added effect of possibly poisoning. I usually deal about 350+ damage when it is equiped to lv53 Garet.

Tsiphone Edge has a lower attack parameter increase than Excalibur, but is the best Light Blade in the game. It's Vengence usually deals about 700+ damage when it is at full power equiped to lv53 Ivan.

Lachesis' Rule is the best Staff in the game, and it's Apocalypse unleash is frikking awesome. The rose whip lash is so cool. It usually deals about 500+ damage when it is equiped to lv52 Sheba.

You have to remember that these opinions can differ from player to player. Different headgear, armor, and other equipment can add too attack. My Tisiphone Edge does 1300+ when added to my Issac lv.66, while my Excalibur does 1000+ when added to my Garet lv.65. I added the Sol Blade to my Issac to see any difference and I was surprised when the Sol Blade only did 950+ even with its unleash.

Uh... the dark sword suks, it may be slightly stronger then the sol blade.. but have u seen that peice of crap's unleesh? It sucks, man. The best wepon in my opinion is the sol blade and the excalabur.The sol blade has an awesome unleesh and it comes up very frequently. The excalabur is good to, though its unleesh is varied, and is hard to get the three hits

1. Sol Blade - Meggiddo, 1k, everything clear...
2. Tisiphone Edge - 0,3-0,9k,
3. Excalibur - 025-0,8k, I'm disappointed with this, Orihalcon and only third place...
4. Fire Brand - Purogatory owns! Grat power and lulls enemy. I always get it just after reciving Grind. Yeah, right. Easy to get.
5. Swift Sword - I cannot possibly understand how could you forget about the most powerful weapon in GS >.< Yes. It's much, much better then ****ty overpraised Kikuichimonji.

Sth bout dmg? Whole party ~lv 50

One thing - I don't know Lachesis Rule, so don't be agressive :D
