For those of you who don't know and if you don't, shame on you, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11 month back in 1918, the First World War ended. So now, today, November 11th is the official day of Remembrance for those who died in any of the major wars. So, basically, this topic is open for comments about the day and it's many meanings.

I remembered about today but I forgot to do anything, like be silent, at 11:00. I can't help but feel a little bit guilty. I blame school. If I'd have been in school they would have made us do it.

You're lucky. I was only off school cause it was a teacher training day. I would have been there otherwise. We usually just stop at 11:00 for about two minutes then carry on.

We had a assembly in school for today. With graphic pictures from the Holocaust and edited scenes from World War I and II battlefeilds. We also had some vetearns in the assmebly with us. I wanted to ask them if they kept any WWII guns but thought better of it. Socom 3 is close enough for me. :o

I'm giving my silence on the 23rd hour.. because I slept until the 14th hour. >_>

We had an assembly too and it was actually quite well done except for the Remembrance Day song by Bryan Adams. That was pretty bad.

I don't really care for the day. My family has many verterans(at least 1 or two for each generation) and we jsut don't celebrate it. Sometimes with BBQ, but nothing special.

It's not really a day to celebrate more than it's just a day to remember. We don't "celebrate" it either in our family, even though my grandpa served in the war.
