What do you think about Apple? Their iPod has taken the world by storm and their other products are extremely reliable. Basically in this topic you can comment on their products, or compare their computers to p.c's.

I usually dislike Apple simply because their products lack compatibility to most things. As for the iPod, I just don't like it's battery life and cost. But anyways. Macs simply pwn pcs at graphics design, but simply have no compatibity, which makes them completely useless (or almost) for someone who isn't deeply entrenched within the multimedia world of pie. Dun dun dun.
      Don't ask.

Postman, what do you mean they have no compatibility? Macs support almost every file format in existence. All Microsoft Office files can be used on Macs, all the major graphics/multimedia file formats can be used on Macs, I don't see what you mean by no compatibility.

The only thing I can think of is that Macs cannot run Windows programs, but wouldn't that make sense? Though that won't be true for much longer, because once the new Macs using x86 processors come out, someone will come out with an excellent Windows emulator for OSX that will support the running of Windows programs.

I've never liked Mac computers that much, but that's mostly because I'm just used to Windows.

But iPods, however, ya gotta love them. But unfortunately, like The Postman said, the battery life sucks.

The only thing keeping me from a Mac is 1) Cost (b/c there's no doubt they overprice hella tons) and 2) No good games.

iPods are also...meh. I have one, but just b/c I got it as a gift. I'd probably go with a Creative or one of those nice iRiver color display ones. I save $100, or for the same money get 10 more GBs.

I have to say that a 32" computer display is something that only Mac would do. Aren't their computers faster as well?

As soon as macs run EXEs, I'm game to grab one. That's honestly, the one and only thing, holding me back. Macs don't run EXEs, which is a major game format for PC games(the kind I work with), and I really want to keep on track with developing games, so I don't want to have a PC that doesn't do EXEs(Yes, Macs ARE Personal Computers, for you that think otherwise).

We know that they are PC's but there's really no other way to classify non-Macs other than PC's.

Macs are really expensive, and the compatability thing puts me off as well. If they (Apple) cut the price down a little and made it so Macs could run everything a regular PC could, I would get one in a second. They are known to be a lot more reliable with less crashes and problems, though that could be because less people use them that there are less viruses etc. made for them. As for other products, the Nano looks ****ing sick (I held one the other day), though I have heard they fall apart and break pretty easily, which will be revised when the next Nano comes out.

I would love to have one of those new iPods, that handle video, pictures, and music! Apparently a 160GB iPod is on the way, but I think it's just rumour.

Well there are 80gb and 120gb USB drives, so there isn't much in the way of adding another 40gb and letting it play music.

Are there really people out there that have 50,000 songs they can listen to? If you're out there, I'd like to hear from you.

Well it's not just for songs. Basically a 160gb iPod could double as a USB drive, and people could carry homework, games, videos etc. on it. Though so far I haven't seen an iPod that doesn't need iTunes to transfer date to and from itself.

Yes, but Word documents and picture files are so small, it barely makes an indent in the hard drive, it's primarily a music player.

I'm sure I could fill up 160gb of space over time. I already have a music library of 12gb, then I put my 4.8gb of videos. Then put a few games on there, other programs, entire movies etc. I supposed it's more about NOT running out of space than making space to get filled though.

Games that don't need to be installed into the operating system. In other words, games that can run off an external drive, I can't name any off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are some pretty big ones out there. And an entire good quality movie can be upwards of 1gb, so put a few on there and it takes up a fair amount of space. Eh, I could go on, but I'm sure you get the gist of what I'm saying.

I do, so you could play Tetris? That's pretty sweet. I get what you're saying, 30GB isn't as much space as it seems.

It really isn't that much space, when you put just a couple of movies on it.

I could barely fit a Harry Potter movie on a 1 gb memory stick

Are you talking about the PSP? Because an iPod doesn't have a memory stick, or at least not what I've heard :/

OKay, maybe no compatibilty is exagerating, but compatibility is an issue for the younger generations.
                                            1) As said before no .exe 2)Everything comes out way after for Macs 3)Price (again as mentionned) 4) One button mouse. Wtf? 5) I never liked anything that proned total simplicity. Just seems meh to me.
Compatibilty is somewaht of an issue because some more used file types can't be used on macs, msn doesn't work on mac, and a ton of programs and games don't run on macs. So it isn't a great computer for teens.

Bah, they still aren't all that bad. One thing I have to say though is that MacOS looks much better than windows. And it's much harder to get a virus. :(

Anyways, who the hell would buy an ipod to run games off it? Seems like a waste to me. Sounds like fun though. The drive would probably be much slower though since it's a microdrive.

Well, in an indirect way. I was really just saying that a GB can be used up quickly with movies.

                                                Hey IDIOT.
                                                Plug a different mouse in.
OR. Look at their new mouse!
Jeez. Why does mac always get related to one mouse button?! You can plug ANY 2 and up button with a scroll wheel and all into a mac.

                                                Oh yeah.

                                                GO MAC!

I knew that. All the Macs at our school have Dell mouses plugged into them. The left button is the only working one though. :P

I've seen this. I'm not really ready for such a different mouse though, I'm so used to the kinds of mouses I'm using now, just normal button clicking mouses. Kudos to Apple for an original idea, though.
