I just picked up Animal Crossing for the DS, and it made me think about the WiFi thingamabob. I have a few n00000b questions.

    1) WTF Is it? D:

    2) How do I set it up on my DS?

    3) How do I use ze powaz?

I read something about it, althogh It was a while ago and I don't really understand it..

Its a bit like a memory stick with a USB port, you plug it into your computer, and if you have broadband, you can get your DS to wifi link up to it, and play the multiplayer games against other users over the world.

You can also apparantley link up to it in places that have free Wifi access, e.g mcdonlads and internet cafes.

EDIT: here is a link: http://www.4colorrebellion.com/archives/20...-usb-connector/

The only thing I don't understand is where to find a WEP key. I need it to go online for some reason.

I don't understand how to use it. But it is the thing that lets you connect with people around the world...obviously.

I'm pretty sure a WEP key is what the DS needs to find the router. Or maybe it needs it to get into.
Just go into your Router settings and it should have it.. I think..

...it shouldn't be that hard to figure out but... you need to have a wireless router, or what Wiflewood said.

                Go here for more info:

                http://nintendowifi....lobal/index.jsp

While you're there, you should do the following stuffs, although it's optional I think:

Go to "Link Your Nintendo WFC ID"

And then follow the rest of the instructions.

The Ds does it the same way the psp does it. Some games can be played online, others can't. It justsohappens that the ds online play games came a bit later. Mario kart is the best! And I can't wait, cuz they say that metroid prime hunters will be wi-fi compatible to.

The WiFi is like hotspots all around the world, you just connect and go wireless, for example Starbucks has a hotspot for wireless internet for laptops and stuff...same thing, just look for a sign in the window(when it comes out) that says Nintendo DS HotSpot...then you can find games online to anyone that is online anywhere in the world o.o; so technically you can go on some trip to like half way across the world, find a spot that says NDS Hotspot and still play with your friends XD
