Well, this is a tread to talk about the members that left the forum in which you miss. I'll start

I miss Eothian: He was a freaking cool member and I was really dissapointed when he left. His topics were educational and fun to read.

ForteGX: Well, he was cool for the short time we knew each other but it ended quickly when I left GSSF. Cool member, funny and definetly helped build some GSSF members.

Kate: Where are you! Your post are so fun to read. I always laugh at them. Come back girl...

Right now I can only think of Neo (Genesis) and Riad (Golden Legacy). D: They were both very friendly to Shebah <3

Someone else I'm thinking about is Illidan but, I still talk to him on MSN and somewhere else so, he hasn't really "left" for me.

Fortegx- even though I talk to him everyday, It still would be nice to see him post on the forum sometimes.

Kiku- she was a really respectable member. She did a pretty good job modding the forum and was a nice mod too.

Ravenblade- aka ravenbalde. like kiku, respectable, funny, honest and wise. sometimes brutally honest XD

Let's face it, us canadians are taking over the place. aaand I think it's pretty safe to say that soon we will rule the entire world.

Also, if I may reference back to my cycle of death, I think that the reason good members leave is because the other good members do. Not that you new peeps aren't good members, just we know the old ones better. Soooo, the only way to stop this tragedy is for people to stop leaving. I suggest chains and nails, but that's just me, you can use "polite" asking too if you want, I guess, it just isn't my way u.u

Btw I'm aware the hypocracy that comes spewing from my face-hole! *waves canadian flag* go plants!

Thanks everyone, you're all so kind... but happily, I have indeed returned to GSSF (Check out the Forum Announcements =)

On another note, let's see... there have certainly been many former members who I miss, and I am afraid I will neglect to mention a few... if so, I'm sorry.

But off-hand, I certainly remember Neo_Genesis, Isaac_Zero 2, Izar, Raven... all of whom were very generous and nice to talk to. Julian and Illidan, also.

I wouldn't really consider that a "gold age". The gold age would PROBABLY be right about when I joined (or at least, that's about where it started ending), before billions of dudes started joining. I'm not saying that out of vanity, mind you. :P

Well June '04 was when heaps and heaps of people started registering. Over that summer we got a ton of new regular members, who all used the spam forum more than it needed to be. That's when all the couples topics and all the drama sort of stuff began to happen.

But really, when I joined, there weren't billions upon billions of members posting within 30 minutes. Not to say it was INACTIVE, but it was active enough to keep me on for a good while to see who was going to post next. Everyone knew who everyone was, so we all knew each other pretty well. (XP)

Of course, the way it is now, I know who everyone is pretty much; but it just feels like we don't have quite enough members posting all at once.

Yeah, same here. I can come in once a day for an hour and not miss a beat today, (except in TRT) but a year ago, there would be a ton of new posts/topics that would be active, more than today.

It seems like this place is actually experiencing a slight revival, although I guess that was to be expected, since it was Holiday season.

It's always a little busier over the holiday seasons. When your holidays end and then mine end it will definately be a little slower here. And we haven't got a lot of members register lately who have stayed active. Only ones I can think off the top of my head are Blue, pHantOm and Split Infinity. All the other seem to post a few times then leave, or a post a lot then leave rather than coming back on a regular basis.

It also seems that everytime we get a consistent new member we lose a veteran member. We got Blue and Split Infinity but we lost Izar, who probably would have posted enough for the two of them.

The reason for so many people dropping out may have to do with the lack of new Golden Sun info. Ya know, usually when a series doesn't get a whole lot of news people start losing interest. I've seen this in quite a number of ways, so it's kinda not surprising.

But other than that, there's lots of funny stuff here, so meh. It's a second home... that I haven't been to in a while.

GSSF has died twice. Once when the GS vets got tired. Then again when the spam generation got tired. We are now seeing what could pass as a third revival, albeit, a very small revival...

It would be nice to have some more members and interesting topics though. It seems that the forum is active enough but the conversation is stale. The reason for this is that GS is too old. We aren't all as hyped up over the games and the forums as we used to be :P.

What we really need is GSW and this AW site to get off the ground! GSW is like a magnet for new people. And fan projects keep us all busy and interested in the site.

The members I miss are the really old ones =\. The pre-spam members.

I'm not surprised. I don't really fit in with you all. I don't spam in the spam forum at all really, nor do I take part in Artwork/Music/Fan-Fiction dicussions.
I was a big poster in the GS/TLA topics when they were active and I knew what I was talking about. Now, I barely remember how to calculate the RNG in battle.

And now a days, I find myself checking in here every so often but I can never find a thread that interests me - not saying you all are boring. I just don't know. I don't do much moderating anymore (I don't even see that GSSF needs it really) and Eugine and MW seem to handle it all anyways.
I don't help Max with his upcoming project/thingy so I'm wondering if I should stay?

Not making a dramatic leaving topic and all that shit but just leaving quietly and checking in every couple months or so...

To be honest, i've missed you but never thought of it when posting in this topic >.o. And I think others don't really miss you because they don't see you as having left really. You have still been posting a few times, and you have a whole topic explaining your absence.

If you find that no topics here interest you at all, that isn't unusual here, lol. I get that all the time, don't know if others do though. I think it's because we don't have enough members, and those that we do have are all very similar interest-wise.

Im here to socialize with you guys, I consider it a community board. Such a diverse group of people all put together, makes for interesting discussions. Its nice to have something to be centered around though, such as a game. =/ I dont know really, just seems the more people worry about it the more dramatic it gets, then again something does need to happen pretty quick. =/ It wasnt GSW that kept my interest here, it was the members. Remember, im pretty new so I doubt that its changed much. I simply found this place while I was looking for a song and for some reason this forum came up lol. So, I thought to myself, Hell I played GS alot why not? :P

January 26th to June 1 2004 was 'The Golden Age'. (this is before all those who came along and abused the spam forum)

of course, we stay here for the members, but there needs to still be some way to draw in more people. That is where GSW comes in (that and it's a lot of fun for us long time members too ;P).

The problem here is that sometimes you have to leave because something else is too important. Once you return nothing really interests you, you don't know if you really belong anymore, the forum has moved on without you, and nobody shows the slightest hint of missing you.
It happens to everyone, and we're losing a lot of great people because of it =(. Don't be the next victim Nick!

Actually the reason I joined this forum was because a very crappy one mentioned it. I didn't really get active until after I had been on holiday. When I got back in the middle of August I think I only had 50-100 posts.

That sounds about right. Man, I hated the Spam Age. People leaving very, very frequently, exclaiming that this forum is nothing but spam.

I think during the Spam Age, I was somewhat in a "sleepy" state, and I missed most of the spammings. I never bothered visiting the spam forums, because such things just didn't interest me. I guess at first, when I joined, I was very active, got lot's of posts per day. After that it weakened. Back then I cared alot about post count, because I thought such things made one important. Nowadays I couldn't care less about those numbers.

I came around in the Spam age. It was kinda funny because I'm usually a decent-quality poster but I spent all my time there. I left for most of the Dead age, though.

XD I joined june 21st. that means I was at the start of the spam stage. honestly, those were the good days for me. this is my take on it, and i don't give a fluxxorz if you don't care n.n

January 26th to June 1 2004- some age where I didn't exist at this site. so its the "neutral age"
June 1 2004 - October 2004 - "the good ol' days" everyone was nice, people were friendly (for the most part), and most people had a blast.
October 2004 - January 2005- "the drama age" everyone was getting in fights, friends broke up, people started flaming eachother.
January 2005 - April 2005- "the newbie age" this is when more people started joining the site, a lot of them were n00bs but some turned out to be good members.
April 2005- November 2005- "the dead age" everyone left.
November 2005- now "the revival age" like agatio said, vets and good members are comming back

BLL: he was a pretty good spriter, I remember talking to him once or twice I think about animation or something. He was really friendly.

WildFox: one of the originals from this site. she never posted much around the forum, just in the artwork section. I learned a lot from her artwork tips n.n

PDM: not the jack-a** one, but the one I knew before he became so rude. He, kate, and I used to have so much fun during the summer just talking about random cruduxorz. I miss the random days where we could talk without him being skeptical or critical of everything. I remember at the very beginning I had a crush on him, and he had one on me. we never said anything and once someone did mention it, we assured everyone that there were no feelings. they kinda got pushed under the rug and eventually died. but yep, that was when he was nice and fun to talk to. I miss the old pashi-percy.

I miss Mewt, if I don't miss her more personally, I miss her artwork. See could draw. She had talent. She was a she. Damn, I should contact her and see how she's doing......but that's beside the point. She was a good member.

The only person that caught my eye on this forum and left was Meglo. It's an odd person to mention since he wasn't amazingly active nor did he do/say anything which got him too noticed but his opinions were never biased and his point of view on gaming was alot like mine, and when that biatch who died many years ago said "Great minds think alike" well, I doubt he has a great a mind as mine, but we deffinately think alike in some subjects.

It's hard to explain for Anubis since he is not good at showing his feelings, but what he means is that Meglo is one of those people you don't know very well but you automatically think "He's an okay person" if you know what I mean.

Hmm. I'm curious about what it would take to bring old members back (and new ones too, I suppose):

- Golden Sun 3 being announced (obvious one)
- Max releasing final version of Golden Sun World
- Isaac announced for Brawl (somewhat?)
- Spam is permanently reduced (LOL)
- They have a change of heart?

All will likely have an impact, but since I really believe Max will release GSW I think it's the most probable. He's gonna put a lot of skeptics to shame.

- Golden Sun 3 will obviously have the biggest impact, but it's the least likely. GSS will most likely be the place to visit for GS3 news, and I'll definitely replay both games to revist Weyard before GS3. Expect the GS3 board to be the most popular.

- Isaac announcement for Brawl will bring Isaac further mainstream, and eventually Golden Sun. We'll see new members who discovered Golden Sun because of Brawl.

- Spam keeps a lot of members here.

- Trying to analyse the heart = MASSIVE FAILURE for me :wub:

Gimli was the ultimate Spam King of GSSF. He and Nobody play MapleStory, though, so I highly doubt they'll spare GSSF a second thought, since they like the game a lot.

Yeah, it kinda gets boring when it's all about the jokes. And Being all bout the jokes is kinda what led to the CR incident. I wish I would've joined when I first found GSSF a number of yeas back. Sounds like I would've had fun. :(
