Okay, I didn't make either of these, but my clan members did and I would like feedback on them before they become fully public. One of them is our new website design, the other is our E360 website which is for our PSP E-Magazine. Both can be viewed on this page, you can be as honest and whiney as you want.

The larger image is a great design. Sleek and sexy, cool colour scheme also. I can see it being used with a lot of content.

Second is a nice compact one. The graphics look very nice. I think it needs a subtle background tile, as well as an improvement to the font (a tad larger maybe? And darker with more contrast to make it easier to read, though not too dark as to create too much contrast).

Yeah alot of people said that for the mini-site. The smaller site is meant to be small to reflect on the fact that it's a website dedicated to a compact magazine with short articles. Also, the large template is up on our clansite now www.clanedge.co.uk for you to give a proper spin, but there are still minor things we are perfecting before we consider it fully complete. B)

At the very least, redo that coding on the second site. Blech. Maybe nick will offer his generosity again. I mean, the thing can be nothing more than a one DIV layout and that's all...no need for all that extra markup. I'd bet on maybe 25 lines if you avoided tables.

Both the mainsite and soup's (the first small site) coding sucks.

Oh well. I left my comments there.

I didn't realize the main site was redone already.
Coding is atrocious....as nick commented, it's seriously bloated. You could cut out a lot of crap from it, and there should be no need for preloaded images.

Well, I don't know anything about the coding guys so like I said on my forum I can't comment on that aspect. But as long a the website works without errors and looks good on both IE and FF which it has done well, I can't really complain. I'm sure the guy who coded/designed the site will read the comments you've left on my forum and may or may not do something about the opinions given.

As for the opinion about the page being too green, green is the third most used color, how can it be too green? The only green things are mainly just lines and the advert banner. But then again, this is more a matter of opinion where as the coding thing is closer to pointing out a fact.

I apreciate the feedback given so far, glad to see people are being honest. Again, I have no idea about the coding aspect so I'm going to ask the basic question, do they look pwetty or not?

It looks fine. It's not like it reinvents the wheel (or necessarily do anything unique for that matter), but that's not a bad thing in anyway. It looks good. Simple as that.

All we want is a site that looks good and works well. The clan agrees that the site looks good, they're happy with it since this is a major improvement based on the last site. It also works well, no errors on any pages, every page is displayed just how we wanted it to. As long as these two things work, we're happy.

My friend keeps telling me he wants to add a flash menu sometime in the future, and maybe even a flash banner. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad idea.

Flash only works on browsers that have and can have the flash plugin which means most of Linux users and Windows users who don't have/don't want the flash plugin can't see the menu/website.

                          Plus it's bloated.

It's not really an issue. It's a video game site, and everyone who plays video games has the Flash plugin.

So many sites out there have flash content, you would be stupid not to have the plugin.
