Well, I'm sure most of you prefer Gamespot, but I'm curious anyway.

I'm a bit of a Gamespot fanboy when it comes to game reviews.

IGN is pretty good for trailers, but alot of their best stuff you have to pay for when you can just view the same content from another game site. Gamespy... meh. I heard it has spyware. Gamespot is the best in my opinion, but I've had to disagree with some of their reviews.

Example: OoT review. They gave it a 10/10!! B) It was a good game, but I think it deserved a 9.5/10 since Navi was so annoying.

I use Metacritic because it takes scores from all of the above review sites and more. Take that!

Gamespot, Then I listen to what people have to say on Gamefaqs. Did you guys know that Gamespot and Gamefaqs are both linked together?!?!? A fun fact.

For the above reason, I vote Gamespot. GameFAQs is one of the best sources on the web for gaming assistance, what with the boards and all.

Of course, then you have to consider all the fansites...

I have to agree here with Isaac702, IGN is my source. Gamespot is good for rumor mill and some interesting articles, but if you want up to the minute feed, trailers, and information, IGN is where you go. I do check Gamespot as well, but not as frequently.

IGN for me. The reviews weren't bad and enough to convince me to get a certain game I'm not sure about B)

I prefer mostly IGN, especially with Matt Cassamara (which I'm sure I've misspelled) who generally gives excellent reviews, and IGN also seems to have some fairly interesting articles (to me, anyway). The Nintendo Minute is always informative and the constantly updated Revolution FAQ is quite concise.

GameSpot, I also visit, but more as an alternate and for the Mailbag, which are generally larger and more in depth. However, there was something about the original layout for GameSpot that I preferred...

I'm an IGN man. I always use IGN for news and reviews, and then also read reviews at Gamespot for a second opinion on games i'm thinking of buying.

No, there's more. The owl is also annoying. :(

                                Just look at it:
                                http://www.gamespot.com/n64/adventure/lege...oot/review.html

                                EVERYTHING gets a 10/10. I just feel it's a little bit... exaggerated.

Yeah, they do get overhyped about certain games and give them 10s. THey gave Mario Sunshine a 10/10, and then spent a large portion of the review explaining how the game doesn't really deserve this high a score but how they love it so much and it is so fun to play B).

I think OoT deserves 10/10 though. Navi and the owl aren't annoying at all imo (not first time playing at least, lol). The only part of the game i thought was disapointing was the end; the final boss battles were great, but the tower itself was sh!t. It seemed rushed :(.

The game is a classic, who cares if a couple of characters were annoying.

If you have the opportunity, take the time to read the Metroid: Prime review at GameSpot, and pay special attention to the latter parts. It is an excellent review of an excellent game, and they address the flaws in the game but explain, really well, how it is not relevant in the overall design in the game.

In other words, it really shows that while a game may be argued to have a few... frustrating elements (as noted above with Ocarina of Time) what ultimately matters is the gameplay and the design.

I use reviews to get an idea of what the game is like and if it's worth buying or not. I can form my own opinions once I own it, but I'm not going to go and buy a game only to find out it's crap.

^Spam, how about something more constructive such as "Gamespot because (give reasons)", i don't like Gamespot it lied to me about the La Pucelle Tactics release constently

It would also help if the post in question was reported. It's nice of you to point out, of course, but there's no need to concern yourself if, again, you simply notify us. Thanks - Riad
