[Sea of Time]

As most of you know, NP is a magazine devoted to giving you the most fanboyish perspective at Nintendo games ever. Just for a bit of fun, I thought I'd post their top 20 games of all time. Of course these games are only from Nintendo consoles, so no Halo here.

The entire list is 200, and for your own info, GS2 made somewhere in the 60's and Golden Sun rated 31. So, without further ado, here is the top 20.

Wind waker should of been higher. That's the best game on a GCN Ever.

Resident Evil 4 must've done well seeing as they made a controller for it. That controller is so cool. It's all chain-saw and covered in blood.

Super Mario Sunshine sucked so it shouldn't have been so high.

Super Smash Brothers (64) should've been higher. That game was so fun ;']

But not as high as Zelda games. SO glad that Majora's mask got 15th, it deserved that, or higher.

Oh, and Sea of Time? The list, as stated, was of the top 200 game ever made for Nintendo consoles, fool. That's why they're all on Nintendo consoles. Nintendo power doesn't cover other consoles, just like Xbox magazine doesn't cover Nintendo games. That's why I liked EGM so much, covered overlapping and everything.

The list is, of course, what you would expect from a magazine published by Nintendo. On that note, I am fairly content with the choices, if slightly put off by the fact that the great majority of them are its key franchise titles...

I was rather surprised not to see Star Fox 64 or Eternal Darkness (for GameCube)... and of course, the Golden Sun titles. And also, since Zelda is so prominent, where are Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons?

I feel the same way but there is a reason. The Oracle games were released just before GBA came out so more attention was focused on them. I feel that they're underated, though I only had Ages.

See, that's what I mean. They are good games but no one knew about them. If you enjoy the original Zelda games should play them.
I have a question to ask, since I don't get Nintendo Power. Where did games like Paper Mario 2 and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga end up? I assume they were on the list.

I had Seasons AND Ages.. Well.. My brother had Ages. I had seasons.
And, indeed, those games kicked ass. And I'm also surprised they didn't put any DS games on it.. Or was it console games only?
Anyway.
Mario Kart Double Dash soooo deserved top 20, atleast!
Oh.. And.. I was thinking of a game...... YOSHI'S STORY ON 64!
One of THE greatest games on 64.
And. Bomberman 64 was pretty cool. Infact. Really cool.
I could play multiplayer on that game (with friends) for hours! It was so good!!

Now that you ask, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages was 39 on the list, and Oracle of Seasons was 34.

Also, games released in the States before July 31, 2005 were not eligible for the top 200. Oh, and if you really hate them you can always send them an email at [email protected]

On any note, I am especially satisfied with Metroid: Prime's ranking, especially since it ranked 51st in IGN's top 100 games ever released. Of course, that is to be expected, since IGN's list included all consoles, but it truly was GameCube's shining moment, among others.

this chart is some kind of sick joke isn't it? resi 4 the best game ever because it just come out for ****s it's as bad as gta-it's made very few improvements over the last game but it's still the best game ever anyone, granted resi 4 has made an effort to improve and improve it has it's still not the second best nintendo game because ****ing Capcom made it, NOT NINTENDO, Soul Calibur 2 great game made by NAMCO, FF 2 is complete bollocks WHERE IS FF6!!?? It was that good. I don't disagree with it's position at all.

They actually had a Top 200 list; Tetris made top 50 (32), but it should've been top 20. It SOLD GB's, after all. I'll see if I can find the list.

I could scarcely understand what you said, but I think I know anyway. XD

Just to add one more not on the list of Top 20.

It's a NINTENDO Magazine. In putting a game for another console in the list, they'd be advertising for another console. Now, that doesn't make sense, now does it?

I was pissed that MP2 wasn't even in the top 100. And Mike Tyson's Punchout in the top 20? Ahead of Golden Sun or even ToS (which also got a bad score), it was sad in a way.

Games like that are probably classics though. Personally I think A Link to The Past should have been Resident Evil and Ocarina of Time. That game is a freaking classic.

I would switch a Link to the Past with Ocarina of Time. I did think it was pretty good, but not Link to the Past good and besides, Link to the Past was my first game.

I had issues with Super Mario 64 beating out Yoshi's Island and Super Mario World, which were much better.

Touch the Magic made the list? Another, better game could've been on the list instead of this.

Metroid Prime 2 didn't revolutionize Metroid the way Metroid Prime did. I'd say MP1 was better in a heartbeat. Mike Tyson's Punchout was a system seller too -- that game was ADDICTIVE. It definately deserved its spot.

I agree SSB has characters from games Nintendo published and licensed. So far, we can only guess that will not change with the addition of GS characters.

I can't believe Wario Ware was 77th. There aren't many games like it. I'm shocked that Simpsons: Road Rage made the list. That game isn't fun.

Why the hell is Pokemon Snap in the top 200? It was fun, but just SO short.
F-Zero GX being 60 something? That should be among the best 20 games.
Mario & Luigi should have been better too.
Luigi's Mansion being 80 something? Come on, it should have been 190 something!
I couldn't find Pikmin 2 anywhere and this game was MUCH better than the first. An improvement in every single imaginable way.
I think the original Donkey Kong should have been on a better position. It's very fun AND their first game.
Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald should be in the top 20 too.
Mario 64 should have been number 2 or at least 3.

Both Castlevania: Circle of the Moon and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow are in the top 200, but what of Harmony of Dissonance? That was also an excellent GBA game.

Hmm, you're right that was a good game. Aria of Sorrow was better though, it might have overshadowed that game.

The annoying thing was that I did the temple on my sister's copy but I couldn't beat the game as she took it to university with her. I got the collectors edition disk on Gamecube but I'm reluctant to do the temple again. :huh:

I would <3 TP if the dungeons got as hard as Majora's Mask.

The Great Bay Temple and the Stone Tower Temples were designed amazingly.

Well I did say pretty much everyone... but I like Majora's Mask as well. If it wasn't for Ocarina it would be my favourite Zelda game.
I never got to the Stone Tower temple but I agree about the level design being good (though frustrating) in the Great Bay. I also liked how you always had a sort of mini quest before each dungeon. Like for the first temple where you go through the castle gardens. I felt it was a good touch.

Not many people enjoyed the time limit, that's why it's not rated better than OoT.
