Well, discovery channel strikes again, tonight I learned of the Hatchet Fish, a fish that's entire sides are covered in scales that reflect light like mirrors, as to be able to merely "freeze" in the water, and sometimes tilt to one side, to turn almost completely transparent to anyone who looks upon it from the side. This works very well...except for when predators beneath it decide to look up. It cannot reflect anything from it's bottom scales, because they do not face the surface even the slightest. So, in order to survive, it developed(will NOT say evolved, to be "religiously correct" ^_^) special scales upon the bottom, that of whcih could actually quickly change color, probably through some kind of changable pigments, what color the scales were on it's lower half, depending on what colors it saw of the water around it in it's eyes.

So, the hatchet fish does in fact, have what we would call today, active camo(quite often found in video games now). People have talked about the idea for a good long while now, maybe studying the hatchet fish will find us some awnsers on a good way to approach it. It's also extremely thin, as to not be seen from in front/behind.

Not only is this pretty cool, it's also pretty scary. Imagine a world where soldiers can become invisble? Think of the havoc the US will wreak upon the world? Think of th-- I've said to much.

It's a good thing stealth camo doesn't work against bosses though.

Yeah, imagine that kind of method being used on a tank. Cool find, real interesting, Blink.

Intriguing. I've heard of the Hatchet fish sometime ago. I'm interested in seeing if our government had something of this sort in devolopment.

That's very interesting. I agree with MR, imagine what would happen if military were able to use a similar camo method.

This would happen: Some freak would steal it using some leet spy gear. Then they'll go around killing people on the street.

So what, I saw a show on Discovery that showed which mamals have the biggest c0rks. It's was truly fascinating, no wonder we humans need Viagra, it's the only way we can dream of competing with them.

That's just WRONG!!! and it's practically almost entirely off topic, which means it has the potential for SSSPPAAAAAMMMMMM!!!!!!!

On top of that, if your really only eight years old, should you really be talking about that??

To believe that an 8 year old can pump out some of the hysterically awesome dribble that Anubis can, you must be mentally disabled my freind. Allow me to introduce the concept of "lying about your age" you to.

I reckon by 2050, people will have invisibility on they're side and we'll be on the brink of global extinction. Stealth camo should be left in videogames, and not brought out into the real world!
